Well said.
There have been arseholes on both sides and in the pre-internet days we would have had none of this stupid shit at all but would have been happy to celebrate promotion together.
Every team has a following made up of a majority of decent people together with a few lunatics and a handful of gobby twats. Some (Millwall and Leeds, for example) are unlucky enough to have a higher proportion of lunatics and twats than others. Bolton and Coventry, I'm sure, are no different to the rest, and it's daft to let 1 or 2 keyboard warriors build a mountain out of a molehill and create unnecessary animosity between fans of the clubs.
Personally I think Phil Parkinson is a miserable bastard and Gary Madine is a thug, but that's no reflection on Bolton's supporters at all. I don't like Lee Cattermole either and I think Sunderland's behaviour over Adam Johnson was appalling but that doesn't mean I have to dislike Sunderland's fans. On the other side of the coin I have always had a soft spot for Mick McCarthy but I don't care whether Ipswich beat Norwich or vice versa.
The only club Sheffield United have reason to despise is Sheffield Wednesday, for historical reasons and out of fierce city rivalry, but (keep this hush hush) most of us know some Pig fans and get on OK with them.

If Bolton were to play against the Owls tomorrow we'd be on your side, for sure.
All the best to you.
