The parade

I heard Sheffield City Council are going to delay it until Wednesday have won the play-off final so we can have just the one open top bus with both teams on it as a Sheffield celebration!
You delusional fool, they won't need to win the playoffs, they will have been promoted as champions!!!

But for many they are. I tire of the 'Don't be like the Pigs' tripe conditioning what we say, think or do on here. Even what songs we sing. No wonder we've only got three and they're all at least thirty years old. It's a symptom of B.I.C.

Personally I've never visited 'Porktalk' and wouldn't know any of their players if they fell on me. The only one I've heard of is Ja Kunt.

I'm a Blade. We're a massive club.

I agree with the overall sentiment but i think you perceive BIC as you call it to be more prevalent than it actually is. It exists amongst some but I don't think it is prevalent in the majority.

No parade just the official do at the Town Hall with a balcony appearance from the team is the way to go.

Beat me to it.

Can we not just forget that we were even here? I don't want reminding of the Neil Collins, Connor Sammons or Jose Baxters we've endured in 5 (of six) painful, pathetic shameful years in this league.
We should invite those 3 and give them a big fuck off on the Town hall steps ,I might attend that.

What's the point of football if you think you're too good to celebrate the good times.

Don't this team and this manager deserve better?

This will be only our second promotion in over a decade and some think they're and we're too good to celebrate it?

League Cup win, FA Cup win or final appearance, Top flight promotion .. for a parade.

I'll settle for the Title Party on the day against Chesterfield for this one.

You'd have a parade for losing a final but not for winning the league? I genuinely don't understand that mindset.

You're in effect telling Wilder that what's he's achieved isn't all that good, same goes for Sharp.

I've no idea why people watch football if they don't celebrate what little success we have as much as possible.

In football you celebrate your achievements. We are not too big to think we shouldn't celebrate getting promotion from League 1 because we are currently a League 1 club. Nothing more.

It is a great achievement and we should let the club, the manager and the players know we see it this way and thank them for their effort this season, so go for it lads.

Hopefully it won't be our only parade in the near future.

Please show me where I have said I am not going to celebrate it.

If we win the league, I think a parade is warranted as we become one of a few clubs to have won all 4 leagues. I'm not sure I would be as inclined if we went up as runners up. There will still be cause for celebration but I'm not sure being the 2nd best team at this level would warrant the parade.

Look.
Nobody is twisting peoples arms to go down town on a Tuesday night to celebrate the blades getting promoted but some little kids might just enjoy it.

Celebrate when we go up, if we are champions and at the end of the last game. It will be great to get out of this division after the longest period outside the top 2 divisions in our history, but a parade would be way over the top in my opinion. I think many fans would feel the same and the turnout would be average at best.

What do you base this feeling on?

I think large number of fans would come out and celebrate only our second bit of success in 11 years.

Everyone will celebrate in their own way. But an open top bus parade for promotion from Div 3 just feels a bit too much.

This is all going to degenerate into you are not a big enough Blade unless you are running naked through the Peace garden fountains, you know that don't you?

I for one am going to celebrate like fuck if or should I say when we win the league. I might not be at the parade though because I'll have a huge hangover from the weekend before it. :)

Me too, bugger all to do with bigger blades (always those most sensitive seem to bring this up) and everything to do with celebrating the achievement of getting the hell out of this division.

Won't ever get the mentality of thinking we're too good to properly mark this.

Say we go up can we see it as Half time? Then celebrate full time same time next season after we have secured back to back promotion?....
