FAO Those who used their phones as flashlights

That's what the matchday experience is all about now though, kids and phones...

You say kids - there was a fella late 30s-ish yesterday near me filming the entire game on a selfie stick. Sad bastard. If you're reading this, stop it and just watch FFS. What fun is it watching through your phone?!

Same for people at gigs who record the entire thing through their phones...you're surely missing the whole point of going!

Has anyone heard the expression 'to leave children to their own devices'? ;)

That might have been a live stream for people who can't get to the game ...... ahem ...

I sat on the Kop and it happened around the 82nd minute mark, on the John Street and on the South Stand, you must've already gone to not recognise it.

It's plain and utter daft when there will be people in the ground suffering from epilepsy to shine and wave around their phones when useductive as a torch. No matter how old they are they need to recognise this.
Fucking useductive? I'm off for a lie down. :)

Was it an organised thing? Seems a bit random for shitloads of kids just to start doing that.

OK, you sussed me, its a fair cop, grade one apparently

Not sure why you are fessing up to BushBlade's crimes?

You could just have kept quiet and made the right noises so obviously you have a guilty conscience about not even bothering to check if there was a spare seat on the Millwall bus.....

not bothered about phone torches, fans getting at players was rubbish though. Crowd could have been better tonight given how well the team has performed for the fist 70 minutes.

Weird atmosphere really, given we won pretty comfortably to go 13 points clear of 3rd with 7 to play
I was a fountain of positivity but all the nervous types around me kept telling me to sit down and shut up.

I think some folk don't like being totally chilled but I can't for the life of me understand why not.

There is no way we have owt to worry about this season except getting promotion at Northampton where only a handful of folk will get to enjoy the party.

Oo not bright lights at a football match.

Things have gone too far now.

I thought something strange was going on but didn't quite figure it out due to being engrossed in watching the thing I'd paid to see.

Just a couple of questions regarding this thread though.

1. Do you think it's just kids spending all the match on their phones/devices? It certainly isn't, the bloke behind me can recite every score at every game going on due to never looking away from his screen.
2. How the hell can we improve the atmosphere? I'm really worried it's stopping the team.
3. What or who are the "PC Brigade" and how do you get to join?

I did check and there was one seat left between Billy the Butcher and Harry the Head Smasher but someone else pipped me to it.

Last Sunday, I went in the Shiny Sheff which has just had a bit of a re-furb. It's now 'child friendly' with a play area, swings etc. outside. So far, so bad. But inside they've got screens on the wall next to some tables which are computers. Kids can sit there with their permanently-blank faces looking at Facefuck and using Twatter. It's all a surrogate baby-sitter for parents who don't give a fuck. The art of conversation is dying out. We're all doomed.
The Shiny Sheff in shit pub shocker!

Fucking hell the Shiny Sheff brought back memories - first place I took my ex wife to ,should have known then she was a nuttter !

I'm all for it if all the "real fan" miserable bastards are pissed about it. (deliberate omission of "off" to annoy same sad cohort).
I wonder if it was inspired by Oldham on Saturday? I pointed out to my lad all the phone torches on their kop - you had to look closely in the bright sunshine to see them though.

It happened to what seemed an even greater extent at the last Tuesday night game I went to against Fleetwood. Dozens in the kop.

All this nervousness dampening down the atmosphere really mystifies me too. The bookies had us at 200/1 to miss out on a top two finish before last night so what was there to be nervous about ? Why ot party ? How are these nervous people going to deal with next season ? Deathly silence all season due to nerves? Maybe we should introduce seating areas where nervous piss is channeled away from each row to stop it cascading down the stand.

I really have found the attitude of our fans to be very bizarre. People leaving after 85 minutes really wound me up, and there are a few other things along with that which triggered my piss taking thread last night. This nerves thing really is utterly ridiculous. https://www.s24su.com/forum/index.php?threads/my-matchday.53659/#post-1274887

I hope being in L1 hasn't done permanent damage but I'm sure it's had some impact on many of our fans.

The mood amongst our fans was far better in the Ched season. And overall we had nowhere near as much going for us as we have now, and promotion wouldn't have meant as much because we hadn't wasted 5 years down here at that time.
