We haven't beaten them at home for thirteen years. Our four attempts since the last win have yielded two losses and two draws.

Yep last four visits 2 wins and 2 draws,they were all Sat 3pm ko,the times we have played them on a Tuesday nite have seen us win.

If we beat them tuesday It will mean they can no longer catch us and its another 1 ticked off the list. Couple that with a scunthorpe win over Bradford tomorrow and its nearly all done except the battle with bolton for the title!

It's reassuring that they've started conceding goals again but I'm sure it'll be a very tight, low scoring game on Tuesday. And there's a fair bit of pressure on us to win it now. I fancy us but we'll have to be fully switched on for 90 minutes. Because if we're not no doubt Gregory will score his first goal from open play for 6 months.

Look at all those who played weakened teams further on . Their league form took a dive.

I love a good stat, and great work there BTW, but you do know, don't you, that different blades teams under different managers have zero impact on the current team?

It is. But a stat is backward looking and 100% unrelated to future events. Future events, when they come to pass, become stats.

Now, if it was the same players and manager against an identical set of players and manager then stats would have a part to play. But it isn't.

If we cannot establish ourselves in the league above the embarrassment continues. Meanwhile I'll have a cup win to temper that. Especially since it 90 odd years since our last decent Trophy and 80 odd years since our last appearance in a final.

Nope. We beat them 2-1 on the 2nd of March 2004.

I'm not recalling this from memory by the way! I wasn't there, or even remotely interested in football at that point in my life!
