The 'little section' of Millwall fans he referred to were the ones singing "whatever will be will be, you're going to A&E" when McCallum was on the deck.

Many Blades fans were outraged by the chant, but then gave it back with interest when a Millwall player went down and was having treatment later.

I dont understand fans who say if someone offers £20m for Brooks then great lets do it you dont sell your best players when you are establishing a squad pushing for promotion. BUT Hey we can do a lot with £20m - you mean like we did with Canon, Brewster, et al they quickly forget our track record of purchases.

I’m hoping there’s no problem at all, and he’s wanting to keep our excellent right hand side “underneath the radar”.

In fairness after the game he was giving Brooks and Seriki massive hugs and walking off the pitch with his arm around Brooks.

Maybe he just wants to remove the noise around them and let them get on with their jobs without getting distracted when the media inevitably catches onto the pair of them?

Underneath the radar the PL teams know about every player in league 2 never mind 2 who are tearing it up in the championship. The only way we keep these two is if we massively up their wages on new contracts ASAP otherwise their agents are just going to advise them to see out their contracts and we will have to accept low ball bids this summer, if we can.

Agreed. But we also have to be sure we can afford all the wages we commit to. It’s always a balancing act between holding onto players, offering big new contracts, and selling to keep the finances ticking over. I think right now Seriki and Brooks should be offered big increased deals, but I’m not the one footing the bill if we’re going deep into the red in 12-18 months’ time.
