Cheers Panchero!

The amount of time my mates spend moaning about Millwall not getting the credit they deserve for being a great community club and then a good-sized section of their fans laugh and cheer as a player goes off with a serious injury while being given oxygen today. Always will be a scummy, scummy club.
Easily the most cunts per capita of any fanbase in this country.

Met a few good uns though over the years.

Went to the Horseshoe next to London Bridge station before the match.

Mainly Millwall fans in there but they seemed decent enough, novelty oversized “baker boy” hats not withstanding.

That said they do have an outsized proportion of nobheads shaming the decent fans. Racist songs on the way back into London Bridge on the train from some spotty youths with greasy slicked back hair and the chants at McCallum as he was stretchered off from nobheads corner over to the left.

Overall though seemed a lot more laid back on this visit than last time I went about 10 years ago. Heard loads of groups of foreign tourists on the platform at South Bermondsey. There was some posturing on the platform at South Bermondsey from their fans but only when Blades were safely on the train and about to set off.

Good set up in the away end too I must add. Very easy to get a pint/food rather than the usual melee.

The bigger crowds at the Den probably means the decent fans actually outnumber the Neanderthals these days. But like any other club it only takes a handful of knobheads to spoil it it for everybody.

A sold out Den, ha ha-fucking ell. More fair weather fans than Wednesday. Tin pot.
Most Saturday games have been a sell-out in home areas for last 2 years now tbf.

It's because they finally opened up more train routes running to South Bermondsey, New Cross Gate and London Bridge from places like Eltham, Mottingham, Erith etc etc in that time and they are areas with large pockets of Millwall support. Really made a big difference to getting to The Den for the fans that don't live in and around SE16. The floating fans that make up a lot of the 45-49,000 Wembley turn-outs.

Plus, it's the first time since the early 90s that we are a consistent top 10 second tier club. Throw in the fact that more people are taking their families, as it's cooled down a lot & lots more facilities etc on offer now.

With Millwall it’s different. Crookes is right. I’ve seen them enough times now. Either as the opposition or in Millwall ends with mates (home and away). There’s always an undercurrent among certain sections of football fans but with Millwall that undercurrent is very easy to find and it is fairly nasty. It doesn’t mean they’re all bad, no. But there’s definitely more of it.

Well you’d probably know better than me obviously, but bar since doing well this season don’t tell me you’ve had these crowds for a while? I’ve never seen a packed Den unless it’s FA Cup or a some sort of derby. You’ve got some Floyd Fairweathers amongst ya.
