Weird atmosphere at the Lane last week, especially after early goal & Charlton seeming comfortable for large parts of the first half.

Definitely a whiff of "are we really gonna find a way to fuck this up....again!?!?" in the air. That's just the nature of a Blades fan after so much heartache.

Heavy pitch today against a plucky side that will be up for it today.

Say we're stuggling and goals are going in for Bolton/Fleetwood, I can see them pessimistic "here we go again" nerves setting in again, but get behind the boys!

Imagine playing today and you're feeling winded & leggy but your travelling supporters that are taking up half the capacity are roaring you on, that's massive!

A nob end in 94th minute is good enough today so let's sing loud and proud from start to finish!

Up the fucking Blades!

4600 Blades there today plus a good few in other parts of the ground.

Always brings tears to my eyes to see the massed ranks of Blades fans.

Let's hope you don't have that "Silentjourneyhome" that was the usual and inevitable outcome before Wilder returned to 'lead us out of the wilderness' Even if we don't win let's leave him and his players in no doubt that we are '100% United'.

Id take a point now.

Imagine my dismay on opening this thread only to find out that it wasn't a thorough discussion on the pros and cons of sporting attire designed to shore up the gentleman's area :(

2 - 2 for me . Would be a great achievement to come away with a clean sheet . The support today should blow and suck that ball into the net , with being like a home match . The fans could make it 3 - 2 with a late blade winner .

Would be nice . We do make a difference .

Weather gorgous over Pennines .

Anybody 'nervous' above anything else at thican'tage is fucking stupid.
Anybody 'nervous' above anything else at this stage is fucking stupid.
I take back my question "why" as I can understand that some people are so confident they cant see anything going wrong. But the world is made up of different types of people with different mentalities. Doesn't make them "fucking stupid " fornot sharing your view.

Because it demonstrates very irrational thinking. There's no remotely logical basis not to expect promotion now.

We're 10 points clear of Fleetwood in 3rd with 8 to play. Nothing has really gone wrong for us this season and nothing is going wrong for us. We have a very convincing manager and a very convincing squad with more than enough depth to cope without any 2 players. And the Football God don't exist.

I can understand slight nerves to some extent. But my post said 'nervous above anything else'. If the excitement and anticipation doesn't override the nerves at this stage then I don't know why you bother.

I understand exactly what youre saying but Logic (rational thought) doesnt mean anything if you have a general nervous disposition which some people no doubt have (not me by the way) and for those people the emotions of excitement and anticipation can often feel the same.

If there are people supporting us like that then (which I'm sure there are) they "bother" because they love united as we all do. If they weren'tnervous about united they might be nervous about that first tee shot or first bowl.

anyway, my 3rd can of strongbow has just been passed back as we head through Stalybridge so enoughof being deep. Just hope everyone, nervous oor not, has a great day out.:)

We can lose today and we can get beat next Tuesday. Id take 2 points for the 2 games right now, that would be enough.

You'll get more confident the more Strongbow you have HBY. Hope you have a great day and can focus on the game.

Why do you drink Strongbow? Are you a yuppy?;):)or a southerner?!

Well I think we managed about 30 seconds of decent chanting in the second half, just after we scored.

Well done Blades, top effort.

You really wouldn't believe we're about to get promoted, that's for sure. The seemingly indifferent attitude of our support amazes me.

Not wrong WWF. By the time we got to the ground I'd put a bet on a 3 1 win. Unfortunately I'd assumed we'd turn up but we didn't.

As for Strongbow. Mate brought a couple of cases for free:D

How old are you ? If you don't chant youre a shit fan ,doesn't matter that you've spent money on a ticket , spent a whole day travelling across the Pennines and stood in a corrugated shed in the sun watching your team try their best on a ploughed field ,youre shit if you don't sing

Not said that have I. There are different types of fans. I've just said that all things considered, our vocal support was poor today.

At 1-1 in the last 10 minutes the win was entirely possible and the fans did nothing to try and push the team on. It was strange, just like last week.

I don't think the ground holds any atmosphere at all ,its just dead and no matter how much you try its just not conducive to vocal support.

Well you can't give people bottle if they haven't got it.

For the record I'm always nervous when it comes to the Blades but with 8 games left, 10 points in front and the majority of those games at home....

According to radio pig we had 4k and a bit, twice he said this, 600 = a bit. Tossers
Great following to that shit hole.
