Often disappointed, never discouraged
Last season I managed half-a-dozen late arrivals and got in for all of them. The best (or worst, depending on your viewpoint) was Crewe on Good Friday when I arrived with 23 minutes left on the clock. My usual Kop turnstile on John Street was closed which was a shame as this had been my point of entry at all my previous late arrivals. I couldn't find a steward either so headed off along Shoreham Street working on the assumption that if I got as far as the South Stand car-park I would eventually find someone who could let me in.
In the end I got as far as the turnstiles on Shoreham Street, and to my delight there was one solitary turnstile open. Still no stewards around, I scanned my season ticket and in I went. On the other side I finally found a steward sitting on a stool enjoying the sun who just about noticed my entrance-with-rucksack and told me not to blow the place up if I had a bomb in it.
As I took my seat we were winning 2-0; ten minutes later it was 2-2 for which I bore the brunt of the blame. Thank-you Billy Sharp for a late winner that day.
Another instance where the much-requested multiple-like button is required. Hats off to ya, as always.
