We haven't yet and in previous seasons, have showed sings of doing so earlier on. In 2012, we failed to win Wednesdays both games, we lost to Oldham at home in a bizarre game. I could go on...Will we?
Sphincter relapse![]()
The mentality of this team is different to Wilson's pushovers.
League title and soggy chip buttiesWe'll make the play offs don't worry![]()
Amen brotherFor everybody fretting just ask yourselves this, regardless of how well they are playing would Bolton swap places with us tonight?
Let them worry about those below them whilst watching us pull away further.
We could talk about form all day long but after 38 games we're topWe are the form team .nothing has changed that
Sky couldn't even be bothered to show a League 1 game the other week when it was FA Cup so they had no games while we were playing Scunny and Bolton were at Bradford. They use the lower divisions as meaningless filler that often clashes directly with a Premier League game or as padding for nonsense like 10 games in 10 days which caused that stupid Thursday Coventry match just before Christmas that nobody but Blades and Cov fans watched. Their Championship picks are heavily biased towards their perceived "big" clubs, chosen entirely for ratings purposes rather than footballing reasons (hence loads of Villa and Forest games despite both being toss). Most "experts" taking about the FL can only manage to talk about people they've heard of because they've played in the Prem and there's a general lack of knowledge about basic stuff like suspension cut-offs being different. Even the National League gets a better highlights show on BT than Sky give the Football League now, as they prefer to show the same few episodes of 15 minute filler dross on a loop. Not true.. Sky show over 130 lower league matches a season.. Sky helped out the lower leagues when ondigital went tits up.. Sky get more viewing figures for quite a few more championship games than Premier League games.

Sky show lower league football, but they don't really care about it.

Have you got a link for those viewing figures? It would help in a long standing argument I've been having with a mate. Not true.. Sky show over 130 lower league matches a season.. I'm sure you could find them somewhere mate.... the likes of forest, villa and especially Leeds will get good viewing figures regardless (former European cup winners and Leeds being a big pull for one reason or another)Have you got a link for those viewing figures? Not sure of exact figures but a couple of years ago Leeds used to get triple the viewing figures of anyone else in the Championship hence the reason they were/are a lot. Probably not quite as big a difference with Newcastle and Villa there now but they still far outperform virtually every team viewing figure wise. Their game would quite regularly attract higher audiences than some of the Prem games.
Much as I'm sure it annoys people but Sky are a business at the end of the day and have to make money. More viewers mean more money from the advertisers etc.
Viewing figures are a massive importance when it comes to the TV deals being worked out hence why BT have just paid even more through the nose for the next European package as that was the only alternative to having to share the content as the advertisers were kicking off over their crap viewing figures.
I've no idea if it's true and I hadn't really took notice of it until reading this thread just now, but someone told me earlier this week that a recent Leeds game on Sky (could be the Brighton game but not sure) had higher viewing figures than the Barcelona v PSG game did on BT the other week.

The only game they showed that weekend was Newcastle v Villa on a Monday night when the Sutton/Arsenal FA Cup game was on BBC1, so that's obviously not true.Sky can't show a live game against an FA cup game as far as I'm aware.
Great points well made.
I wish there could be a way of SUFC being very successful without all the Prem/Sky shite.

ok.. you've got me there... maybe they just can't be bothered to show one in the early rounds because they would lose hands down viewing figure wise..The only game they showed that weekend was Newcastle v Villa on a Monday night when the Sutton/Arsenal FA Cup game was on BBC1, so that's obviously not true.

You did say Sky don't really care about the lower leagues... Can you tell me why they bailed out the football league all those years ago and still do this day show live games(113 per season, all play off games and upwards of 15 checkatrade trophy matches) if they don't care about the lower leagues.
They could have Sky Gold 2 and 3...Cos there's only so much Sky Gold they can show?
They could have Sky Gold 2 and 3...
24 hour repeats of 3 2 1
Unless it's a losing play off finalI think Sky have missed a trick there.
Gold 2 & 3.
Lennie Bennett's Lucky Ladders wins hands down against any Pigs games on Sky Sports.
