To be fair BB you are right, it was his derogatory intro referring to fans singing about Soggy chip butties that wound me up.

Yes, he mixed up soggy with greasy. Didn't do himself any favours with that one.

He mentioned that we have some talented individuals but the thing that impresses him the most is work ethic and desire and said the players have been fantastic. CW also mentioned that Billy has told him many times that he's not bothered how many he scores as long as SU gain promotion but Wilder admitted that he doesn't believe Billy and thinks he really wants to hit 30 goals this season.

TS asked if he had plans for next season in the Championship as surely we'd need to strengthen.
CW commented that he hasn't planned specifically for the Championship yet because we haven't reached it yet. However he's ALWAYS planning ahead thinking about all possibilities. He said that Huddersfield have proven that you don't have to spend millions to be successful.

TS said when a big club goes down then people automatically think they'll quickly bounce back but Bob Mills said it can be difficult to bounce back. CW agreed and admitted he'd been backed by the board and had a fantastic budget but said there are additional pressures on big clubs with expectation. Mentioned it's taken Portsmouth a while to get out of div 2 and league clubs going down to the non league have often struggled to bounce back because every wants to beat them.

TS mentioned our big gates currently averaging 21K, said it's similar to Burnley, Swansea, Hull etc all PL clubs.
CW said he never realised how big SU were and said we are a MASSIVE club with fantastic fans, told them we'd had 25K over Xmas, 26K and 28K against Bolton and Scunny. Also said we're taking 4.5K to both Oldham and Port Vale and if tickets were available we'd take over 10K to MK Dons.

The kissing of the badge and the beating of the fist on the heart stirs the emotions and good grief makes me realise what I've missed the last few years under the leadership of Clough and Adkins
 
Bob Mills is an Orient fan...poor bloke,they're in a bit of a mess at the moment...he's usually complementary about United though to be fair...cheers NPFIT,I'll give it a listen.
 
I turned up late for a meeting to listen to Talksport in the car when they said CW was going to be on ,and to be fair there seemed to be a lot of luv for the Blades in the TS studio ( apart from Moose - obviously)
 
Great interview, we have a proper manager at last. Need to stick with this guy even when we inevitably go through some tougher times.

We have a tendency as a support to lack patience and I understand how this has come to be but let's just remember how time after time sacking someone has not led to improvement. Give this bloke the job for a few years. When he does leave I'm convinced we will be in a much better place.
 
I normally like listening to what Wilder has to say

But if the trade off is having to listen to talk sport I'd rather not hear it

Hate the snivelling, sarky, Premier League Southern club wanking bastards

And their absolute love of Portsmouth for some stupid reason is embarrassing and shows exactly what kind of football values they have

Thanks for the link . Jim White and team seem to be really interested in The blades and Chris Wilder could have been on for the whole show and I don't think any punter listening would have got bored

One other thing I've just remembered is that he said we'd signed players around 23/4/5 who have been around a bit and know this league.

I think he's said this before, as has Mitchell or Knill (can't remember which, one of those Biggs interviews).
