Not at all pedantic. Tufty won't allow us to stand still. We'll be competitive next season, even if we happen to be in a different division. It may mean favourite players, mine included, will fall by the wayside. That's progress, but I shall miss Matt, George and Louis...

I don't want to get too carried away but ours WAS reminiscent of Barca or even Brazil 70, against lesser opposition I accept. Nonetheless, some of our football is way above the norm for this level and I ❤ it.

Be that as it may, the improvement is nothing short of astonishing. When we played Scunthorpe last season I chose to play golf instead. I've never done that before but expected then I would do so quite a lot this season. Not a bit of it. Only Augusta would keep me away and the invitation seems to have got lost in the post...
