Just broke into the the England U20 side 19 year old Charlton Central defender looks to have a big future in the game.

He didn't have his greatest game yesterday but overall has impressed with many scouts watching him from Clubs in the premiership/championship are ment to be interested in him as well.

I would love to see United invest in young up and coming talented youngsters like Konsa and give them a chance in the first team at the lane.

I also like Evertons approach of investing in youth and giving young academy prospects the chance to shine, I would love to see quality up and coming young talent like Konsa at the lane.

I just hope when we are promoted that we don't make the same mistakes and sign loads of old has beens on bug wages again like we did when we were relegated.

I read yesterday that a few PL sides are keeping tabs on him.

He looked to have all the ingredients yesterday - tall, athletic, good on the ball and versatile.

Don't think we could afford him within our budget.

We will have to wait and see how serious this Prince is about Liverpool style investment.

I would love to see us going down the route of these kind of investments as they pay for themselves in the end.

No... these kind of moves are long term gambles that any club in our sort of position cannot afford to make. If we ever get back to the PL and get established, then maybe.

But we don't have the luxury of being able to invest 5million+ on a youngster from another club we don't know for sure will develop into a first teamer.

For every Gareth Bale there's a Lee Morris.

If we are promoted, and the Prince is true to his word, there could be a substantial amount in the transfer kitty. It would be sensible to inform Chris Wilder in advance of any proposed investment so that he may bid for players who at the present time are beyond our means.

I hope that youngsters from our own youth set up will also be good enough for consideration. I have enjoyed reports on the Under 21 and other youth teams and it is good to note how players advance.
Thanks also to deadbatand all who keep us informed and in touch with the Bladesgames

If I had a Saudi Riyal for every time the "Liverpool" comment has been misquoted or taken out of context, I'd be able to mount a takeover bid of my own. HRH never stated that himself, although there have been several reports from various sources that additional (Saudi / Chinese) investment is ready to be put in place if/when Utd manage to get up.

The Utd project is still very much work in progress and still has a long, long way to go to achieve the end goal - a consolidated place in the Prem. Despite lots more wrong decisions having been made since HRH came onboard, the club are now in a much better position, with much better governance, management and recruitment structures in place and they are well placed to progress further. However, if anyone thinks a £5m gamble will be taken on an unproven 19 year old centre half they need their heads seeing to.

Perhaps people should enjoy the remainder of this season before casting gloom on what lies ahead next season.

It is noticeable how little criticism McCabe is getting at the moment. For all his misguided, uninformed and generally poor decisions over the years, it is good to have a Blade at the helm who has the club's best interests at heart and who wouldn't intentionally let the club get into the state that some others have found themselves in through either divestment to unsuitable owners and/or mismanagement e.g. Coventry, Charlton, Leyton Orient, Bolton, Portsmouth, Rotherham, Pigs, Bury, Darlington, Rushden & Diamonds, Hereford, QPR, Chester, Notts County, Leeds etc. etc.

Was he their number 50? If so i thought he looked clumsy as fuck all game and couldn't wait for Lavery to come on and run at him

This,totally.
When or if we are ever in the position to be able to play inexperienced players in games that bear no significant games that may cost us points etc, then fair enough.
We have a knack of producing such prospects, so we shouldn't be to hasty in buying youth that may,or may not cut the mustard.
Louis reed is no where near good enough to make our bench this season.

I tried to keep an eye on this lad as I'd seen the Premiership speculation before the match.
He was their number 15 and actually played in midfield against us. Good when he had the ball and his size is certainly an asset......but on the downside he wasn't interested in defending and tracking back so I was surprised to see that he's supposed to be a centre back!
