Personally, I think it was good for him and good for us.

They weren't going to pay much more, as he was an unproven punt at some young talent. If he'd stayed with us he would have got less game time than with them.

I loved seeing a young Blade interviewed on MOTD. It's good for our reputation, and must serve as a really positive example for our current youngsters to aspire to.

UTB

What an amazing feeling eh? seeing all our best young talents going to clubs above us and excelling such a great feeling :/

Yes , massive bidding war for him . The club did well to get the money they finished up getting .

More bothered what we do , than ex players . He was sold for a reason , that reason to help fund promotion .

Them still in a red and white shirt are the players that count .

1.25m or whatever it was? that is absolute peanuts for a player of Doms potential.

He's scored a goal, lets not fap ourselves silly just yet.

He may well develop in to a solid player but was others have said, was sold for a reason.

Enjoy our season, players come and go and before we start waxing lyrical over the ones no longer with us, lets celebrate the ones we have that look to be returning us to the championship.

It's frustrating more than anything I just hope once back in the championship we tell other clubs to fuck off or demand really extortionate figures in future.

That was the going rate for a young fringe player . Just because he has had a run out for Everton doesn't make him a regular .

Me , I will go with Wilder on decisions with players who ever it is .

Not on about his sale I am on about the fee, we never get a proper fee that can be used to our advantage and re-invest that is what grinds my gears more than anything.

We are a league 1 club with no real income , but heavy outgoings to keep us a float . McCabe bank rolls up .

What do we want a team of up and coming youngsters or promotion .

Fucking hell , we are top of the league . Let's respect Wilders judgement on players .

I'll admit, I don't understand the frustration. To me DCL wasn't an integral part of the team and didn't look as if he was going to be this season either. Getting a fee of over a million for someone in this position when you're a 3rd division club **looks** like a good deal.

And people said it was good business, the only reason people were saying that is because we are doing well in the league if that was last season people would not have been saying that.
And doing well in the league is what it's all about.

If Wilder needed to sell him to release funds, or just didn't want to stand in his way of bettering himself it was still good business.

The compensation we get for releasing him is only a small part of the overall picture.

Only people it is a good deal for is the powers that be.

If Wilder needed to sell him to release funds that just says it all for me.

I am just thankful more than anything that we have Wilder in who has managed to turn a sinking ship around that is the most important thing for me.

So you think we should have unlimited funds for player development?

The other thing going to remember is that players are people, not pieces of meat to be traded at their owners behest.

Is it wrong to shatter a young lads dreams of playing in the Premier League for the sake of a few quid?

Do you understand the meaning of the words compromise and balance when managing people's aims and ambitions?

Our trouble as a club is we sell at the first sniff of an offer.

Which of the 3 direct questions is this in response to?

In other news, Sheffield United are top of the fucking table.....

And there's plenty of other threads celebrating that you f******g fanny.
This is an interesting thread about an ex-player and what we think about the fact he was sold.
If you don't like it, don't f******g comment you half-witted, dumb-f**k of an absolute arse-wipe.

You sound just like my ex :)

he was wank for us. i dont care if he turns into ronaldo, he looked out of his depth in league 1 when he got game time. good luck to him but at the time it was good business.

At the time, here and now! Not sustainable.. Investing in the future to secure long term growth... Can we achieve the championship with current squad only time will tell! Would be amazing if so but the gulf is massive!

Just discussing him on Goals on Sunday, apparently David Unsworth was a huge fan when he was with our u23s and put his faith in him and got Everton to sign him despite not having a great scoring record.

Unsworth was the head of the academy before being headhunted by Everton . Unsworth and big Duncan Ferguson have been watching Dom for some time. Dom himself sat on the kop throughout his youth and is a massive Blades fan. I wish him all the best.

I feel DCL would have likely been eight around first team from the start of the season, had he stayed. He played great in the Grimsby pre season game and i was looking forward to seeing him in competitive games.

Feel we could have/should have got a better fee for him. But good luck to lad
