Yep... just as Blackie said he hadn't "had a dabble".

He also said he didn't want to comment on players who were still under contract to their clubs rather than ruling it out completely.

Doesn't tie in with the official line, but who knows!

Kevin Blackwell has played a straight bat to reports that he might be interested in bringing Michael Brown back to Bramall Lane.
The former United favourite, who worked with the United boss when he was assistant to Neil Warnock, has inevitably been linked since competition for places at Wigan has increased, but Blackwell said after the win at Bury:
"I can confirm that we have not made a bid.
"Michael is a Premiership player on big money and it would be wrong for any manager to talk out of school about someone else's player."

If we were signing the Brown from the 02/03 season then I'd be happy. But we are talking about the Brown that wasn't even good enough for Fulham. Remember that shot he had when he came back to the Lane? Aimed at the Bramall Lane end goal, missed, and was so far off target the ball nearly killed a till girl in CCC.

T'would suggest one or more is on his way out I reckon. Rumours surrounding Tonge so he'd be my guess. I'd not be happy at that though.
