Blades 0 WBA 0 on a rainy day in August 1971 just after winning the first 4 matches of the season. John Kaye on the far left and John Wile on the far right. Not sure who is in the middle. Might be Graham Lovett
Asa Hartford?Just had a look at the line up. Lovett didnt play in that match so I think it was George McVitie
Hartford has blond hair and is smaller than that!Asa Hartford?
I heard the Foxes made a bid for him.Was McVitie a Nice player?

Bitter-sweet memories of going to this game. Clough's last game in charge of Forest.
The 2-0 win secured our place in the top flight and relegated Forest.

It absolutely mattered, and even still had to go and beat Everton in midweek afterwards. Even then we still had a mathematical chance (with a massive GD swing) of going down on the last day when we put that to bed by hammering Chelsea 4-2 at the Lane on a fantastic performance (was 4-0 at one point I think). Are you sure it secured our place in the top flight,I thought going into the game we were comfortable in mid table?,this game brings back only good memories, sunshine, drinking in the Larwood and Voce tavern pre game,a majestic goal from Hodges, comfortable 2-0 win,and giving the great man a rousing send off

Don't cancel that memory man challenge.
Our final position flattered us, but as you can see, it was close at the bottom:
