Spend big on shit players?

I really hope we dont sign henderson.

im trying but i need more beer :D

i just want the season to start and a romping big victory.

noticed there all in cup?

Er..... and? Do victories not count in the cup?

The cup is totally different than the league.

Still the same thing, you need to score more than the other team to win

how many in the league then we didnt play with big man little man and won? And how many did we loose?

I didn't find any game in which this happened..... maybe Colchester away where we drew 2-2, pretty certai it was just Stead and shelton then.

And same with big man little man up front win/ loose ratio?

It won't even be 40% mate,

I just dont see what good its doing selling hulse if BT is injured without cover at least.

This is the thing, we will still have 4 first team strikers available even if Hulse is sold and Beattie is injured.

Henderson has been mention, but IMO i dont think hes better than hulse.

He was a damn sight better than hulse last season
2million for hulse?
a striker who hasnt scored in nearly 16months?
what are you moaning about when we have plenty of strikers!
Robbies shown we are reasonably successful even without a 'big man' up top so with stead, sharp & webber amongst the goals already, beattie whos super-human and shelton aswell.

dont get me wrong i will be sad to see Hulsey move on but for his own sake and his own career, its the right decision for all.

Its the cup FFS!

if your going on with the cup, barnsley are the 3/4 best team in the country!

Its a different kettle of fish to the league.

We have 4 strikers if hulse goes and BT is injured but they all play similar roles. Its like having 4 left wingers and no right winger.

Yes im not grumbling at him going for £2million. What im getting at is why are we selling him, the only cover for BT, when he could be out for 8 weeks. makes no sense at all.

You never know we might have a suitable replacement lined up and i agree with you i hope it isn't Henderson.

"Yes im not grumbling at him going for £2million"

Make that £1.5m

it will only be £2m from add ons

Haven't seen Hulse play this year but if he is not making any progress I can see why Blackwell might let him go. He's already said he would likely let a couple of strikers go. He included Robertson in hie total of 7 so perhaps he's destined for loan.

It will be £2million if derby get promotion. £1.5million isn't too good for us.

In the FA cup you would be referring, but it doesn't work like that, they did 3/4 best in said competition, where they don't play ALL the good teams. However they did beat 2 very good teams.

Its a different kettle of fish to the league.

The same logistics of football work, whether it is league of cup football

Has there been any official source stating he will be out for any prolonged periods?

Webber and Sharp play different sorts of roles, as does Stead..... I honestly can't see similarities between any of their play to be honest,

Sharp is a poacher, Webber is a speedy forward and Stead is a footballing forward.

Again, you're going on hearsay he is out for 8 weeks.

Makes perfect sense to me, from a football point of view, business point of view and personal point of view!

1. Football point of view

Get rid of a player who is still recovering from a bad injury with no guarantees he will be the same again, who hasn't scored for 18 months and looked right off it last season and replacing him with one who scored 14 times last season, is a feisty son-of-a-bitch, and will run through walls.

2. Business point of view

Hulse will have been a major wage earner at the club. My guess is that Henderson will get considerably less, and there is minimal difference in the fee paid! With only 12 months left on his contract, it was probably a good time to get what we could for Hulse!

3. Personal Point of View

Hulse probably needed a new challenge and we needed someone to keep pushing Beattie (he does have a bit of an idle streak IMO). Hulse at this stage didn't need that sort of challenge, Henderson would probably relish it (I knew I'd get the pun in first, I thank you!!! :D :D :D :D)

:lol:very good

and spot on imo

Yes I agree with SEB, particularly on point 1 but I can understand Keenzy's issue about getting shut before we have a suitable replacement. I think Stead is great but he isn't a target man. We've always done better over a campaign with a successful big man, little man combo.

Yeah its good business SEB, But if BT feels a tweak, we end up without anyone to hold the ball upfront, make its stick. At the min, Hulse has gone and BT may have an injury as has been left out of pre season so far, meaning we have no man.

Pre season dosent mean anything at all, and the opposition were hardly to our level what we usually play at. We play against a team like watford with sharp/webber/stead up front, we will not get anywhere near their goal.

Good deal with hulse, but i think we should have got someone better than him in first then sold him.

Yes robbie its same logistics, but you dont see some teams busting a gut to win in the cup hence fielding under strength sides.
The attacking football played in the cup wasnt against great opposition really. Man city was but we had a balloon help :D

Anyway, i have full confidence of going up this season so we should overcome whatever obsticle!

Read the posting again, bugger-lugs! Henderson is already tied up!!:D

Ok pops ;), I've read the post again and can't see that he's "tied up" anywhere! I'd just feel happier doing business when we sign before we sell. As we all know deals can fall through and it could leave us short. I agreed with your points though so less of the bugger-lugs! You ain't even seen my ears!!! :D

I know its pre season but the big man little man football at scunny got us 2 goals. the "attacking football of jon stead and billy got us 0.

:D

Oh when the blades......................

Hulse managed to score yesterday!

Pity he couldn't set one up too like Hendo! :D
