    Shome mishtake shurely?

    :)

Yeah. Are we talking about the fucking awful start to the season where we lost three out of four (including two on our super-investment Desso pitch, or the recent blip which everyone was expecting?

And, I'm surprised you had to look that up, lad.

So everyone can see what we're dealing with......

Snitty asides don't contribute jack shit to the debate. United are rock bottom."

Drink your Horlicks now, eh?"

Only to prove that you clearly don't understand the meaning of the word. Where was there any positivity?

Lad? You just demean yourself.

I'd buy myself a trophy but..........

Aw. Poor Bert. I'm sure he needs you to prop up his wounded third-party ego, and the rest of the board to tut and say 'aw'.

As said, Bert couldn't offer much as to why we'd started the season so poorly. We'd lost three in four (and again, two at home on our wonderful super-investment pitch) and Bert was busy pissing his pants just in case this was indeed 'the end'.

Fortunately Wilder has turned it round and credit to him and the playing staff we have retained, not to you and Bert.

Hey was that when I made the comment about us emulating Blackpool which Sean Thornton searched for and his pet poodle Tunstall the stalker or whatever name he uses this week likes to quote :D:D:D

But your understanding of the word sanguine? Plus your snitty asides comment ( Pissing his pants? Really? )

I can't believe you're unable to answer the two simple questions I've put to you tonight. I think you are perfectly able but don't want to. Facts are clearly Kryponite to you.

Yeah. That search facility should be banned. Not fair making peoples comments coming back to haunt them.

Was it this one?

Well whoopee doo McCabe seems to have found a good manager, anyone can throw a dart at a dartboard and eventually they will hit bullseye.

I'll admit to editing the post to clear out the previous manager McCabe mistakes comments to just show the current seasons issues.

Is Chris hitting the doubles and trebles now?

Fancy referencing a post that makes a past opinion look even more stupid. :)

I'm not angry about this season. I am disappointed in previous failures to get out of the division where we are long overdue some success, and similarly disappointed people don't see the damage people like McCabe has done since we dropped out of the PL with shit appointments, puzzling player floggings and odd acquisitions. I'll be very disappointed if, after all the shit the club and its fans have had to endure, season upon season, him and HRH don't fulfill their pledge and give us Game Changing Investments, so we can 'think Liverpool'.

As it were.

pommpey

You clearly are angry though.
All you've done there is rehash arguments from seasons gone by, i know because I've made many of the same arguments myself.

But this season, I just cannot get angry, we're playing too well, managed by a Blade, Captained by a Blade, playing on a WONDERFUL pitch (:)) I just cannot continue to be annoyed at what's gone before.

And to honest, I'm a bit puzzled at those who are.

That says the Prince will inject cash. You said McCabe. They aren't the same person you know.

It also says "Murphy money spent on wages".

And presumably you believe it all.

So that's okay then.

You expect people not to mention the rubbish you claimed?

Emulate Blackpool,chortle,chortle

Bert was busy pissing his pants just in case this was indeed 'the end'.

As far removed from Bert's view on the situation as was possible.
Bert always has a very positive view on life. You should try it.

The Desso installation was first announced in April 2014, being paid for by the Cup runs under Clough. Murphy was sold some sixteen months later.
If Murphy wasn't sold to help fund the earlier purchase of the Desso, surely we would have reinvested the money we received from selling Murphy on new players? Since we didn't do that it is a logical conclusion that the money was used to alleviate (and then some, £1m spend vs £1.75m sale) the spend on the Desso.

When I noticed this thread, I thought how the hell does a comment about the Desso pitch generate 11 pages of replies at this stage of a (so far) excellent season?

Now I know, I think...well maybe.

By the way that reminds me, anybody seen owd Len? ;)

How many times?

McCabe said the Murphy money would be re-invested and it was; on wages.

There are countless threads (that I certainly can't be arsed to look for) that moan about this. Typically the 'antis' forget or (deliberately ignore), the fact that wages are so high and massively eclipse transfer fees over the life of a player's contract. They want all 'fees in' to be spent on new players.

When pushed as to who funds the wages, the final answer is usually that it's McCabe's own fault for stepping forward to be Chairman.

Somehow he should 'put more in'
or the magic money tree,
or elves,
or the tooth fairy.

It is nothing to do with the Desso.

Oh dear.

It doesn't matter whether it went on wages or the Desso, the net result is still the same.

If a man spends £10 on apples (desso) and £10 on pears (players wages), then sells his bananas (Murphy) for £10, it doesn't matter whether he says the £10 he got from his bananas covered his apples or his pears, the fact is he's saved an extra £10; which he wouldn't have done had he reinvested it on more oranges (new players).

Hope that helps.

That conclusion is highly illogical as the club were contracted to install and pay for the Desso over16 months before. It was included as an addition to tangible assets in the 2015 accounts, the Murphy sale in the 2016 accounts. In the link Pommpey used that he clearly didn't read properly and now says is lies even though it's not happened yet, it claims the Murphy cash was spent on Wages. Who knows? But I doubt the Desso people signed a contract to be paid as and when the club sold a player. The timeline doesn't fit at all. It's like you getting a pay rise in August that you weren't expecting and saying you used it on the previous years Christmas presents. You are I believe only the second poster to back the Desso/Murphy myth, even MetalBlade for example doesn't, but I wouldn't go buying magic beans off Pommpey just yet. You could have list your hair shirt if you'd bet on the Duffy going claim for example.

IF the Prince comes up with game changing investment on promotion, let's see how the excuses line up then as to why the claim is now that he won't. Rather like Murphy/Desso and the Duffy sale in January, answers there will be none.

I see you're trying to help him out but you provide nothing but an opinion which the evidence shows to be wrong.

His ego won't let him back down or even leave it. As I said, tragic.

The man is down £10 is he not,spent £20,£10 incoming,difference of £10

Nuts and cabbages would be a better analogy.

It does help.

So basically you are saying nothing should be spent on any infrastructure improvements. ALL income must be ploughed back into wages transfer/ fees?

So in ten years time when BDTBL is the new 'Stadium of rust', you can start a thread about 'Why doesn't McCabe spend money on the ground?'

I am losing the will to live with this thread.

Perhaps have a word with Pommpey to see who claims the internet arguement cup for this one.
