Could only see Curruthers starting in place on Duffy - which I think he's fairly inclined to do as he seemingly wants to keep Duffy fresh.

I'm hoping Ruthers will be unleashed on Saturday in the number 10 position.

Shame about Riley, he would've obviously started some games. It would've been worse if we weren't looking so comfortable though.

Time for The Cruvvers to be unleashed! Especially with the tricky away game at Oxford on Tuesday, which Duffy could just neatly slot back in for.

In fact, thinking about Tuesday's trip, wonder if there might not be one or two more changes?

Not that I would, but would any one consider a change of formation to accommodate Carruthers (or someone else).

Say to 4-2-3-1, ie;

- - - - - - - - - - - - - Moore - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Freeman - - Wright - - O'Connell - - Lafferty

- - - - - - - - - - Coutts - - Fleck - - - - - - - - - -

- - - - Carruthers - - - Duffy - - - Lavery - - - -

- - - - - - - - - - - - - Sharp - - - - - - - - - - - - -

For those at work or unable to hear. Actually he mainly talks about Rochdale.

'Everyone is fit'.
There are selection 'problems' purely because everyone is playing well. Players have been coming on in games and giving us a lift.
Riley has had an operation and will be out for the season. We will keep tabs on him and keep in touch with Man U. Not drawn on whether we will renew our interest next year.
There won't be any contract discussions until the summer. 100% focus is on finishing the job off on the position that we're in.
Leon Clarke will come back to us next week to continue progression on fitness. Will be back 'before the end of the season'.
Tribute to the backing we have received both home and away and to the players' work ethic, but it's useful to have results go for you when you aren't playing.
The other teams feel equally great delight when we drop points.
We just need to keep producing the performances.
Huge respect for Keith Hill and Rochdale. A great win percentage at a club with so few promotions in their history. They produce players, pick up players and reinvest the money they get in the team.
Keith gets a pint out of a half-pint pot.
The team are flexible and adaptable and will prove tough opposition.
Apparently Hill has been suggesting he will chuck the kids in for our match and do some rotation...
Nothing would surprise Wilder about their team formation, selection or approach because KH is brave so it wouldn't do to underestimate them. So perhaps not a flippant remark.
For them to be in the playoffs year-in-year-out is a great achievement. .
A win percentage of 42-43% is fantastic for them.
They possibly could have won the game at the start of the season but we have moved on since then.
They have had injuries and when they get them back will put a run together.
On having tough away trips coming up:
We've already had a tough run over the past few weeks.
But we are not arrogant and will be focused on the next game and so on.

I tend to think go all in on Saturday to give ourselves the best possible chance of getting three points. Then give a few hungry fringe players a chance at Oxford, e.g. Carruthers, Lavery, Jayohshay...

4 points from the next two games would be a very very healthy return.

St George's park is a stone throw away from me. I might go up and see if he'll sign a pre contract with our under 10's. About his level....

Yeah, agree about the points return - both of them tricky fixtures, especially Oxford (5 wins from the last 6).

Rochdale haven't won in 7, but only 3 sides in the division have won more at home than them this season, & only the Blades have won a higher proportion of their home games.

Why change anything ,I like Carruthers from what Ive seen but to be fair a couple of cameos at a tiring Southend and Bolton and an iffy game against Peterboro does not merit the hype hes getting over the 3 who have got us where we are. I sense people are just waiting for one of the 3 to fail ,Duffy favourite atm which is completely unfair ,all 3 are the business.

I think we'll have to do some rotation at some point as we'll be playing Satdi Tuesday, Satdi Tuesday, but I agree. All three have more than earned their places in the starting line up and I'd only rest them if they genuinely need it or for tactical reasons.
They must be getting a bit knackered by now as they've played most of our games.

Completely agree with that. While he's been encouraging, Carruthers was a little disappointing at Peterborough and while he did impress on Saturday the likely one to drop out (Duffy) is still there on merit – and had a large part to play in our excellent opening goal.

Pretty relaxed about whether Carruthers or Duffy plays. I expect with 2 games in quick succession, Carruthers will start 1. I expect O'Shea to get a bit of game time from the bench too. If Carruthers plays instead of Duffy it might change our midfield shape a bit too as we went from

Coutts-----Fleck

------Duffy

to

-------------Coutts
Carruthers--------Fleck

essentially inverting the triangle.

Carruthers in for Duffy would be my only change too. These creative types, especially at our level, struggle with consistency. A short spell finishing teams off from the bench will probably do Duffy some good. Remember, he's the wrong side of 30 and has been an ever present in our starting XI all season, his legs and mind may be feeling the strain a little.

I agree also. Six games in a month is hardly a fixture pile-up and barring injuries, I would stick with the players who got us this far.
Get as many points on the board as quick as possible and secure promotion and then the title with a couple of games to spare.
Plenty of time to reward the fringe players with a game once the job is done.

My team v MK Dons Away on April 22nd once the title is won:-

____________Long

___Wilson Ebanks-Landell Kelly

Chapman Carruthers Scougall Done

___________O Shea

_________Lavary Clarke

Then bring back the first team for the Chesterfield home celebration. Ideal scenario.

Wilder and Knill will know where Duffy is in terms of fitness. Personally I think he looks a little tired and it's telling that he's usually the first sub. Carruthers doing so well last Saturday makes a change a decent option if only to have Duffy firing on all cylinders for the end of season run in.

You don't feel knackered when your part of a winning team Bush, it's only when your having a bad run that you feel it. I'm pretty sure all the lads are chomping at the bit right now.

They're properly monitored now and Wilder and his team won't risk anyone if they don't need to.

Next season for sure, but what we have now is working let's not mess with it.

Assuming the match goes ahead, apparently the pitch isn't great to say the least despite it apparently only being recently relaid.

Wonder if it is that bad if it will influence our decision on who to play, and even how we play. Remember going there a while back and the ball was bobbling all over the place. Not at all conducive to our style of play.
