heres a point how many of those I MENTIONED AVERAGES HAVE DROPPED BELOW THEIR PREVIOUS GROUNDS AVERAGE

Might not have filled them all the time but gates are all up

southampton in the prem got 14000 at the dell

30000 in the new ground

explain that

They got 15000+ before the move

The capacity at the Dell was just under Err, 15200.

Hope that helps.

so 14000 gates . they werent filling the dell then wouldnt you say

You asked me to explain it. I did. They'd been in the top division for some time. ESTABLISHED you could say. 15000 gates btw. Your point , if there is one, would have been better made quoting there actual attendance rather than understating it. If you can't grasp that I may as well go and talk to my microwave.

But now you're claiming they did/didn't sell out at the Dell? Which is it? Just to clarify.

well you mentioned their capacity was 15200
they didnt hit that which seem eminently achievable

but my point is they took the risk to DOUBLE their capacity and it worked for them

Im saying up ours by 6000 or so

Trophy count? It was results he picked you up on, although to be fair you've been on the floor throughout most of this thread.....
how no ones given me a reason why arsenals attendances fluctuated over 20 years yet other than 1 stand being built and the taylor report which covered all 92 cliubs

I dont see how results matter , 1 result wont change a seasons average
he was on about league cup games which arent counted in league averages
totally spurious argument

Have you checked other teams attendances in the aftermath of the Taylor report? You know, as a comparison. League positions and stuff like that might have to be brought into it, winning trophies etc.

Might make more sense than throwing your alphabetti spaghetti on the floor and analysing the results.

You mentioned beating Asenal 3-0. Can't you remember? I believe that was the first post about results. Any results. What did that have to do with attenances then? Why say it?

whats the point all teams had to deal with the taylor report

all teams suffered in the seventies with thugs
all teams got better attendances with the sky era

the fact remains teams that have upped their attendances by expanding or moving to new grounds are doing better for crowds for doing it

which was my point

no I didnt
I said I dont see us as being less of a football club than arsenal we beat them the last time we played them . in the league. courtesy of Nade
wasnt about results was about football teams

when did we beat ASENAL 3-0

Your point was we need a 45000 seat Stadium.

Maybe because

You only quoted nine years attendance figures.

There is only one fluctuation that hasn't been accounted for. The remainder is a trend of increasing attendances.

It's irrelevant. What happened thirty years ago has little bearing on what matters today. I could use our attendance figures from 1990-94 to show we don't need to increase the size because our average attendances were well below 32k but I'd be stupid to do so.

.

so it increased from 23824 in 86 . to 24 403 in 93 ooohh thats 500 or so ooooh
we got more than that saturday
and you slagged me off for comparing us to them

1993 24.403
1992 31.905
1991 Champ 36.864
1990 33.713
1989 Champ 35.595
1988 29.910
1987 29.022
1986 23.824

I don't give two shits about the Premiership so I certainly have no time for this bizarre recent handwringing about our home which is widely acknowledged as being among the finest grounds in the country.

It has seats, it has kiosks, it has places to piss = facilities.

I'm forever worried that the Kop is going to collapse when the ruffians at the back bang the corrugated sheeting!

Seriously we do need a bigger Kop but I don't think the current one is bad, just lacking in space when sat down but I hope we return to standing.

As I've explained, that season was because the north bank stand was closed for redevelopment.

yes but theres 7 seasons there and it fluctuates 13000 across that period
did it take 7 seasons to build the stand
yes or no
their highest attendance came AFTER the Taylor report

I think we will. I'm convinced of it.

It won't happen soon by any means. The Council and the Safety Advisory tossers will put up every obstacle you can think of. We're probably several decades away from seeing it, but safe standing is an inevitability.

Surely if its allowed by a government rule then the local council and/or the police can't obstruct? I think we're a away off the government allowing it anyway although we still have standing old school allowed in the lower leagues don't we?

No you didn't. I got that wrong you said we beat them when we last met. But that actually still means it was you that brought results up. And it was pointed out you were wrong, so you started your guff about only league games matter, rather than saying, yes you're right.

Apologies for my shameful spelling mistake. I can imagine with your high standards you found it incredibly frustrating. Bit like all the capital letters and paragraphs I use.

in time kop first
up to 37000 or so as the plans show

"

"well I remember us being top for a couple of months in 72 and we reguarly got 40 k plus
an even mediocre decent season finishing 10th we would piss 45000 in this tv era
we get a few students visit now , imagine how many would tuirn up for chelsea"
