Jimmy Dunne scored 41 league goals that season

Sid Gibson was a talented player whose career ended by injuries. He died at the age of 39 in 1938.

Gibson had been pivotal in avoiding relegation the season before. We went to Old Trafford for the last game needing to win to stay up. We won 5-1, mainly thanks to a superb performance from Gibson, described as "the game of his life" in contemporary reports.
