Our f@ck-witted police are scared of trouble after the game so limited it to 1000 tickets out of 2800.

Is that a fact we only have 1000 in the bottom tier or is it a guess?

Away teams that bring a big following are offered 2,100 in the bottom tier
With about 800 seats netted off to separate fans away fans from the South stand and JS stand.

So why would the police be happy to offer away fans 2,100 when there's a higher risk
But only allow 1,000 home fans in there?

Somat to do also with the first 9 rows of seats unavailable on lower tier. thus not allowing those pesky Bolton fans pissing and gobbing on the home fans below

I hear the feckers are taking over the wheel chair section as well

More than less week due to Bolton having an actual away support. Scunny were pathetic in all honesy last week.

The seat plan on the web site site showed today that on both wings there were seats available 7 rows from the front. At 5pm today the whole of the bottom tier only showed about 50 tickets left.

But even if the front 7 rows are netted over then that would still be approx 2,000 tickets sold to home fans.

The ticket sales.

On Monday, I've been told, United offered Bolton Wanderers ALL the bottom tier tickets.
On the condition that they bought them ALL with NO returns allowed.

Bolton Wanderers obviously, don't believe they could sell a further 2,800 tickets to their legions of supporters, so turned down the opportunity.

For all their supporter's bravado and criticising of Sheffield United FC, us the supporters, etc etc... I think they should look closer to home at the club they support and their colleagues/friends who profess to doing the same.

My uncle still talks about that match in the 1971-72 season when Best scored.

It was at a time when no one ever bought tickets in advance.
It's was simply first come first serve. Get in early or risk getting locked out.

He tells me United must have took 12,000 to Old Trafford but the gates were locked with "sold out" signs.
So they had no choice but to listen to the match on the radio whilst sat in the coach.
I was lucky, went by train and arrived at the ground early, about 1 o'clock.I was going to get something to eat but heard the steward say they were going to open the turnstiles early due to the amount of fans outside the ground.I went straight in,directly behind the goal that Best scored 'the goal',my brother was one of the 10,000 locked out,i remember i saw all the first ten games of that season, brilliant.

It's what I was told at the ticket office. Our police force are worried about both sets of fans leaving at the same time. The idea of keeping the Bolton fans in for 5 minutes is perhaps a little taxing for them so with-holding 1800 tickets is their solution.

Be interesting to see if Bolton actually make some noise, Scunny had a lot of fans last week but their attempts at generating an atmosphere were pathetic.
Agree. I do think today's atmosphere from both sets of fans will be a good one though, a lot of our fans see Bolton as the main danger so it will pump the volume up tenfold.
