whereas dissecting the game looking how it happened changes anything
we lost no ground at all
and the chasing pack have 1 game less to catch us
dwelling on the fact we could be 8 points clear. does that need saying more than once
yes we get it , but it didnt happen
move on
It won’t change anything that’s quite right. Discussing performances and results after a game will never change the result. Nobody is saying it will. But this forum would be pretty dull if nobody is allowed to talk about such things. I’d better tell
Deadbat to give over with his reports as they won’t change the result. And tell
Roygbiv that he shouldn’t bother collecting views from the opposing fans as however they saw the game, it won’t change the result.
It’s a football forum. It’s a place for people to discuss their opinions and perspectives on football matches. That’s what the OP did. For what it’s worth, I don’t 100% agree with him but if that’s how he feels about the match he has just witnessed, he is entirely within his rights to post as such. Telling people they can’t express frustration or disappointment at a particular result because all teams fail to win sometimes is silly. As is quoting facts that everyone is aware of.
We all know that no team wins every game.
We all know that no ground was made up by our nearest rivals (except Fleetwood)
We all know that it’s another game gone.
We all know we played some very good stuff first half.
BUT for some, it will feel more like a missed opportunity to put further distance between ourselves and the chasing pack and they are entitled to that view. It’s not an unreasonable view although there was an element of hyperbole in the OP as
Grecian2000 mentions. There are positives to take from it (first half performance, coming back from a goal down, nobody making ground up on us) but there are negatives and frustrations too (failure to capitalize on the extra man, lack of composure in the final third, conceding from a very rare attack, missed opportunity to extend our lead). Seeking to allow only one side of that to be discussed as you so often do is very strange behavior and more fitting with our North Korean neighbours.
