Because next to their old ground, Eastville, was the factory where Heinz Beans were canned. The factory workers used to finish their shift on a Saturday lunchtime, head straight to the boozer for 3 or 4 and then pile into the ground. All this on top of their complimentary breakfast of beans, beans, beans, chips, beans, beans, egg, beans, beans, beans and spam. Not many firms took their end, I can tell you – not unless they were tooled up with breathing apparatus.
