If and it is a big if we go up this season what are people's thoughts on ticket prices in the championship? The number of teams charging away fans stupid money has certainly gone up since the last time we were in the championship.

Just look across the city at what them lot are charging and it is scandalous, looking on their forum I found this little tit bit:

"If they're playing us next season I can't wait to see meltdown when they find out we'll be charging them over £40 for tickets"

They really are a set of odious bastards and have conveniently forgot about the uproar it caused when Leeds charged similar. If the price of success is to charge football fans 40 quid in the second tier of football they can keep it.

Wouldn't bother me at all not to go ,already been . overpriced , deathtrap ,full of cunts ,all Blades should boycott ,would be great ashheivemet (as that twat says every second word) to see that end completely empty and think we are costing that cunt at least 200k

It's capped at £30 in the Premiership. Any club charging £40 in the 2nd division are cunts. Let the home fans pay through the nose for inflated wage bills and transfer budgets, we certainly don't have to fund their season.

Not that playing the Pigs away will affect me. I refuse to legitimise their existence by visiting the Deathtrap.

Their attitude towards ticket prices for their own fans is astounding, anyone who has the audacity to complain about the prices is shot down.

The attitude is if we want success we have to pay over the odds. I would like to think our fan base wouldn't take that attitude they are a different breed and have been brainwashed not thinking that.

It's a good question.

Remember the rule, away fans MUST be charged the same as away fans for similar facilities.
Clubs have cottoned on that they can charge away fans £35+ in the 2nd tier and still get a decent number of away fans. I don't think the Police would like us to charge £25 because some clubs in the Championship could bring 5K and the SYP would rather deal with lower away numbers.
The problem is that home fans must also be charged £35+ for the same match.

However there is a way round it so home fans don't get punished so much. This is the system that many clubs use. As I've said I think that large away number increases policing costs so clubs charge a police tax to away fans to discourage large numbers travelling.

1: Charge £35 for category A but United could introduce a membership scheme where it's £30 to join and £10 off match day prices making it effectively £25 for home fans or

2: We could choose to charge high match day prices but offer massive discounts on season tickets.
So then it becomes a no brained that anyone who attends 50% of matches is financially better off buying a season ticket.

That's the reason why Wednesday's gates are so high, averaging 26,000 this season, it's due to having over 21,000 season ticket holders. Against Birmingham the other night there was less than 20,000 in the stadium but due to non attending season ticket holders being counted the official attendance was given as 24,805.

No that can't be true about the pigs gates they are massive. 20,000 in the ground after signing a 8 million pound striker.
Are you sure it wasn't 20, 000 locked out ?

After all according to this pig on Porktalk who went to our game against Wimbledon
We manufacture our gates.

"Apparently there was 20k at the Stain yesterday, not from where I was sat there wasn't.

Now I've experienced it myself, they 100% manufacture the gates."

Talking of 'massive' there was actually a beam-back for our game at the weekend and at it's peak there was an attendance of 550(odd) watching it :D

We are really good with ticket prices we won't over charge people our ticketing department are good

But that means we can't over charge away fans either and we may be one of the cheapest in the league.

That means there will be a 3 to 5,000 away ticket demand from a few clubs next season.

The SY Police will be having sleepless nights.
They may as well leave the steel fence up permanently on Bramall Lane.

Paid £30 odd at a few grounds the last time we were up there.

Missed a few I might have gone to as a consequence.

I'd love to see a boycott of that utter shithole but realistically it will be a sell out (should it happen) first away Derby in years would be too hard to resist.

20 is plenty. If they choose to charge 40, then i've no problem with them donating the extra 20 to Sheffield Childrens hospital or towards painting the ground again

Was there? how much was it ? All EFL teams are now connected to each other on a fibre network for this exact purpose but this is the first time i have heard it being used. Maybe if the club advertised it a bit more, more would go down to the lane to watch it, and we can make a few quid.

I hope we reward our ST holders with a renew early at similar price type deal. We've stuck with this team through some extremely dark times. Don't bite the hand that's been feeding you for the last 6 year SUFC.

As for other clubs, fuck all we can do about it. I only managed a handful of away games a season so those days will cost an extra £10/20 which I think is wrong but hopefully recover some money on travel going to the sty and the well rather than Rochdale and Oldham.

They had the children's hospital on there shirts , while at the same time not paying tax or vat ,
so I doubt they'd contribute anything to the children's hospital,
and they certainly ain't going to paint the death trap .

I'm actually quite looking forward to Rochdale and Oldham

The one draw back to success is the increase in cost of enjoying playing there
Not just the tickets but the 6 pound pints at some clubs and the 4.50 pies
The championship is less regulated than the prem and you have twats like Chansiri who fleece away fans at every opportunity

I remember when Leeds started charging away fans extortionate prices Wednesday fans took a high moral stance and said they were boycotting Elland Road because of their rip off prices.

Now that their club is doing it...... all of a sudden most Wednesdayites think it's fine.
And many have the cheek to mock away clubs that only take 1,000 to Hillsboro.

Really disappointing and is another example of their selfish attitude.

I think this is a bit of a smoke screen regarding the " high moral ground " , my understanding of why they didn't go to Leeds was because the pigs firm , without the steel wall to hold em back .
Battered a few Leeds in Doncaster , and the pigs got wind of a warm welcome awaiting them , hence dirty strides time , bottle went , and hay ho , crocodile tears over prices , meaning we ain't going boo hoo over prices .

I can't do Rochdale but am doing Oldham. I like doing the transpenine trips despite not getting to many away games nowadays, these are 2 that I've done in recent years (as well as Bolton). It's not a bad drive over and I've become partial to a post match pint of Boddingtons in the Commercial in Glossop on the way home. I was just indicating that I might replace them with the sty and the well if we go up and whilst the tickets will cost more, travel will be less so might even out a bit.

That said, I might find myself nipping across the hills if Wigan or Blackburn stay up. Then there's Preston too but I've become sick of Deepdale. I seem to have done that particular away game way more than any other.

Hopefully trips to the dirties and udders will be on the agenda too. I'd quite like Reading to go up out of the playoff teams as I'm not bothered about going back to the site of the worst pint I've ever had.

I won't be going to the sty or f***ing leeds because I hate them both and refuse to contribute any more of my hard earned to either of them. If they were only charging a tenner I still wouldn't go.
In fact last time I went to f***ing leeds, the dirty city that is, I went on a training course under protest and refused to spend any money once there. In fact I came away on top because I ate as much of the buffet as I could and pinched some bags of crisps for the train home.
Also, f**k off look f**ing leeds, the centre of the universe north.
Apart from those two, I'll go to most of the others depending on when they are.

What we should do is boycott the next derby game except for a couple of hundred tickets sold. This means SYP will still have to block off about 5k seats in the name of segregation. Add these to the couple of thousand seats permanently closed in the corner of the deathtrap and this means the pigs will be struggling to hit 28k. Not so massive then eh? There'll be mass suicides on Hillsboro' corner.

Went behind enemy lines and had a look on Porktalk
They were boasting that because they paid extortionate, rip-off prices then that made them massive compared to us - and of course we all get in free

...FFS, only at the sty

They should have bit the bullet and pulled down that Leppings Lane slum/deathtrap in 1989 - its an awful experience to visit, like going back 50 years in time
