i noticed that Lafferty who is pretty much on the left touch line in previous games was drifting into the middle a lot especially the 1st half. Was wondering if he was told to do this by CW

That move where Coutts played a long diagonal and Lafferty volleyed the cross in for Sharp was a peach.
Shame Sharp didn't finish it. The move would have been a Worldy.
Laffs also missed a header when he should have got it on target. Still, he is getting into those positions and is a really solid member of this squad. He was maybe off the pace a little last time out after his injury lay off but he will make some crucial contributions during the run in - of that I have no doubt.
I watched that about 10 times earlier today, was going to start a thread on it, but then i decided i better stop stealing a wage and do some work...
Got to say, Billy bottled it. It was a certain goal with a decent connection. The choice he made was because he didn't dare take a risk and also took his eye off the ball. Not a major criticism, but he went in half hearted (and still took a whack)
He had three options, the one he took being to try and guide the ball home. The other two - smash a volley or in true 70/80's style, diving header, Mark Hughes style.
The smashed volley has a risk of ending in the back of the kop. So perhaps not the best option, but even a crap connection would've found either corner.
A diving header was there for the glory, the money shot for the photographers. it had enough power on the volleyed cross to just throw himself at it and guide it, but with the power already there it would've flown in. Keep standing no chance.
But looking at it, it seems he pulled back because a smashed volley or diving header wouldve almost certainly resulted in being clattered by the keeper.
Gutted, wouldve been an amazing goal, a worldy as you say!
Half us thought he should have headed it and the other half thought he did the right attempt. Personally it looked like he was going head or when the ball just dropped. Will have to see it again as I am now confusing myself!

Skyline GT-R , I believe ,I missed that. What kind of car was he in?

My that's a bad coutts, sorry I mean croup you have thereCough
sure beats the Renaults that used to drive around the edge of the pitch at half time back in the day
"Wow look, they have hazard warning lights and are driven by big fat car salemen.
Better rush down to GT Cars and buy one of them Renualt 14s before they have all gone (rusty)"
I noticed that...him or Chris must have been watching Man City,as their Full Backs do the same and come inside so to speak. He isn't the type to get to the byline though like Freeman does on the right,he generally crosses it from about 18/20 yards out...he should have scored with that header though really.A couple of times when we were attacking there was no one wide left and Lafferty was in the middle on edge of the area.
