Transfer Window

There's a difference in passing constructive comment and outright criticism of the club on there incoming and outgoing transfer dealings . What we have to remember is that Wilder has the final say , agrees and rubber stamps all things players .

Does that change our tune or way of thinking . It does me .

UTB .

Anyone else noticed the Pigs crapping themselves at the potential of the Rhodes deal falling through! They've been chasing him for more than 5 years now and it still might not happen! Its ok though, they've signed Winnall! :D

I'd prefer it if they signed him for £10m and he was garbage. Properly septic.

The sales of DCL,Adams and ramsdale will not alter what happens on the pitch this season.
Not one of those was a regular barring a sub appearance here and there.
We've strengthened this window in what we need to get out of this division. Utb

Che Adams not a regular? Really?

All things being equal I think that we've come out of this window stronger than the serious competition for a change.

Niggling concerns about how we'd fair if Billy and/or Moore were injured, but looking at the what we've brought in and what competition have brought in and sold, I think we've got to agree that we've done better than our competitors overall on paper.

All we need now is for the lads to kick on and do it on grass. UTB.

He made 41 appearances last season and scored 12 goals but apparently not a regular.

Fucking hell what does that make Billy Sharp? he made the same amount of appearances last season! :D

Adams was often sub, not a starter.

I remember he was great at the beginning of last season
Everyone was predicting he would leave for the PL and was potential international standard.
We show some ambition by giving him a massive payrise then surprise surprise...his form went down hill.
He was then dropped and was playing mainly as sub or subbed I nstead.
Certainly not a gauranteed starter and I reckon he rarely played a full 90 minutes.

He got 11 goals as a second forward. That's about double what our non Sharp strikers have between them thus far.

Despite how last season ended up Che and Billy got a fair amount of goals between them.

11 goals aint bad for a reserve player. :)

Am I right in saying Ramsdale had 6 months left on his contract?

Kind of hard to have someones pants down when they know they can get him for next to nothing in a few months time...

We'd have got compensation for him
And the compensation would have been set by people who live in football's 21st Century.

Same as Maguire, the compensation for a promising player with 200 games under his belt would probably have been more than we actually negotiated for him,
Sorry re-negotiated for him after we told Hull to foxtrot Oscar with their original higher bid.
We rejected it and then went cap in hand to them when they didn't make the customary increased offer

Glad to see we have got Chapman back. Hope he is the same player he was before the injury. We need his pace as witnessed by the Fleetwood game.

Wilder wasnt impressed with his attitude last July and August

He played a grand total of one competitive game under Wilder, when he was widely rumoured to have been left out of the starting XI in case he got injured as we were about to sell him.

He was as a regular last season and one of our best players (not that hard) and anyone who says otherwise is IMHO just doing so to defend his sale. I appreciate there are arguments in favour of selling him, but denying he was one of our better players and a first choice is distorting the truth.

Even McCabes biggest critics (me included)have to agree this is the beat window we have had in living memory.

For me the main point is we haven't sold any first 11 players, I was worried someone like Fleck, Duffy or Freeman might be attracting attention and there might be a late bid.

In addition we've added the big man up front and Carruthers and OShea who are proven in this league and secured EEL for the rest of the season. I'd have liked to keep Ramsdale but he's not played a league game all season and wasn't likely to displace Moore anytime soon.

We're second in the league with everything to play for COYRAWW

You're wrong. We only had him for a short period of time so we'd have got fuck all for him at tribunal. Tribunal fees are pretty poor I'm afraid.

Got to agree a transfer window without selling our star player is new territory for Sheffield United. I'm disappointed to see Ramsdale go but what can you do while in league one? You do have to ask why his contract was allowed to go down to the last 6 months though, a bigger question is about the Academy is it worth it while we are in league one I don't see the point of finding and nurturing young lads to sell them off sometimes cheaply to other clubs.

It's catch 22 though as selling the likes of the 2 Kyle's, Harry, DCL, Slew, Ramsdale et al has raised significant money and I would think more than financed the cost of the academy

we have scored more goals this season
they are just spread about more,
freemans got 6 hasnt he, and EEL and oconnell chip in
dont mind who scores as long as we win

Freeman has more than 6 I think. He should be playing alongside Sharp upfront.
