All very controlled and restrained on the face of it, but I bet it wasn't like that when the cameras weren't there. And nobody got drunk with glasses that size. Sack the Board!

Soon as I saw Phil Cliff I thought it may be the FA Cup 5th round tie at West Ham in 1968. Woody at the back of the bus so he can have a fag.
Who's the guy to the left in front of Len?
You missed out Russell, Hodgson and SimpsonIts just a few years before my time to be honest.
I recognise Hodgy, Doc Pace, Richardson, Graham Shaw, Joe Shaw and Cec Coldwell and possibly Summers and Alchurch at the back but I'm struggling with the rest even though I sort of remember having this picture on my bedroom wall.
I never saw Hodgson or Russel play but I remember Ronnie Simpson battling it out with Barry (braces) Hartle for the left wing position when I first started going with my Dad a few years after this. You missed out Russell, Hodgson and Simpson
All those photos have been earlier in the thread. Why didn't you just read all 106 pages before posting
Ronnie Simpson on the right hand side, that makes 9 but who is the one at the front right hand, is it Billy Hodgson?#Its just a few years before my time to be honest.

Is he the one hidden next to Hodgy not in his shirt?TC wasn't involved in the FA Cup win at West Ham as he was cup tied
Gil Reece is the player in front of Len
I do not recall Simpson being bald but he possessed a cracking shot on him.I never saw Hodgson or Russel play but I remember Ronnie Simpson battling it out with Barry (braces) Hartle for the left wing position when I first started going with my Dad a few years after this.
The only Ronnie Simpson that I remember was as bald as Bill Punton. It just shows what a few years at the Blades will do for the old hair follicles.![]()
Max Omare at Genevieves , good club. For a bonus point , what did it become and what was round the back ?

Wasn't Max the owner of Shades?
Great memory. I too think Simpson kept some of his hair. Score was 3-0, and I think the keeper was one of my favourites, Jack Kelsey. Always seemed reliable. Do you remember the fog that night? I was on the Kop, and we only knew a goal had been scored from the noise of the crowd. Very weird. When was the last time a match was played at the Lane in fog like that? We were worried the match would not last to the end.I do not recall Simpson being bald but he possessed a cracking shot on him.
I recall he levelled the score at Highbury in 3rd round cup in 1957 when we brought them back to the lane and won 3-1.
Arsenal's keeper Jim Funnel broke his arm, no subs then.
Was working late so just got into ground for evening k/o creeping into the lane end, John street corner entrance, it was packed out.
Had already travelled to Highbury by coach for the first game.

Shades was the coldest place on God's earth at eight o'clock, the warmest at eleven - that and Mansfield bitter, very happy memories for me and our Gert.
How do you mean "not in his shirt"?Is he the one hidden next to Hodgy not in his shirt?
I have already identified the three players Gray Blade didnt identifyRonnie Simpson on the right hand side, that makes 9 but who is the one at the front right hand, is it Billy Hodgson?#
If no one comes up with the answer I will get out my who's who book.
