if this were the case and we did sign him as a number 3, does this then imply that young Mr Annerson is deemed not to be fit/suitable for the number 3 in the first team?
From the reports about him during his spells at rotherham and chesterfield, he was looking ever more likely to be knocking on the first team dressing room. And from the footage i have seen (allbeit minimal) he does seem to be a good keeper
Hasnt Annerson been capped at England U19 level?
If four players are coming in, does that mean Hall,Martin, Cotterill and one other? Now that would be economical.
Sky Sports said:Coventry City have agreed a deal to sign Carlisle United's highly-rated goalkeeper Kieren Westwood.
The Championship club have confirmed Westwood is on his way to the Ricoh Arena and will be presented at a press conference on Wednesday afternoon.
Westwood enjoyed an impressive past season for Carlisle and was named in the PFA League One Team of the Year.
He has made over 150 appearances for the Cumbrians since joining the club from Manchester City four years ago.
Carlisle boss John Ward recently admitted that the club would have to listen to 'any serious offers' for the 23-year-old after receiving three enquiries for the keeper.
The Republic of Ireland hopeful had 12 months remaining on his Brunton Park contract, but has now accepted a deal with Coventry.
A sensational transfer swoop is on the cards as Blades boss Kevin Blackwell seeks to solve his goalkeeping woes with the capture of highly rated Coventry stopper Kieren Westwood. The Blades have used a succession of loan keepers this season in the absence of the banned Paddy Kenny, with none as yet stepping up to the mark.
Westwood, born in Manchester but part of the Republic of Ireland squad, has earned rave reviews during his 18 months with City but their ongoing financial woes could force them into a sale. Coventry manager Chris Coleman is known to be furious that his star player is to be sold without his prior consent, and may ask that veteran Ian Bennett be included in any proposed deal to ensure that he retains a first team keeper.
and where did fansonline get all these great scoops?????
Would be funny as fuck if we could get him to sign for us. If we get promoted we could offer larger wages then Wednesday or Huddersfield and he is actually a decent keeper.
In all seriousness I’d rather keep Deano but would still be hilarious and also a good signing if we could get him.
You’ve been on Porktalk, I can tell. There’s a thread on there about him going to Huddersfield, which would mean him not having to move home and somebody’s suggested we might take him instead. I think the assumption is promotion, as we’d be giving him £25k a week....
