We're the best team in the league

There is only one statistic that counts, the final league placing.
 
All this tells me is that we concede far too many goals as a % of the shots we have taken at us.

That means that if teams suddenly start having more shots, they're likely to score more.

We need to improve the defence. We need to buy better defenders

Second, after Charlton up until March when Ched got sent down.

The myth is that we then fell apart, but actually we still continueed to pick up points but Wendy sacked ginger pig and got Jones in and went on an unbelievably good run (12 wins or 13 or something similar?). It pains me to say it, but they were the best team from Feb to May.

Ched was sent down in April, not March, after the 3-1 win v Leyton Orient. There were then 3 games of the season remaining, of which we lost 1 and drew 2.

You are right and Ched was sent down on 20/4, the day beforfe the MK Plastics game.

My point about Wendy's wonder run remains valid though.
 
I'm always a little sceptical with these things because sample sizes in football are so small. On the face of it though this is what possession football looks like when done well: denying attacks to the opposition and having plenty yourself.

your bang on coco about that 2012 season said it many times on different forums if pigs hadnt sacked megson we would have gone up in top 2 no doubt about it the ginger one wouldnt have got a late run out of them like jones did most of our fanbase blamed ched and although it didnt help wendys decision to sack the ginger one was more of a factor imo
 
Wednesday were just incredibly lucky. They got battered by both Carlisle and Brentford yet won both crucial games. The Carlisle one in the 95th min.
