There's been an event at Bramall Lane tonight with Wilder and Knill in attendance. These are both from people who attended...

It seems like the rumours are right and the silly bastard is trying to sue us. In which case even those of us who wanted him back will have to draw the line. So stupid, so unnecessary and a real shame, but if this is indeed true, then fuck him.

You don't work for the CIA by any chance, do you? There wouldn't be any, er, 'evidence' that he's trying to sue us I don't suppose?

Hearsay, rumour and intuition - It's the new FACT!

I posted this on here a few months back but didn't believe it had any merit, if it does then wow

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-earnings-cleared-rape-following-retrial.html

I thought he was the best player we could sign and wanted him to, not to start but to provide back up in case Sharp gets double anterior cruciate ligament damage. Hope we are in for another striker now.
I may be missing something here, but didn't we actually pay the remainder of his contract while he was in jail (so he didn't lose anything there) and then didn't offer him a new contract as he was in jail for the following two seasons. What earnings could he have possibly lost from us?

Utterly mystified as to what possible reason he could think he could get loss of earnings from us for

Forgive my ignorance, but what is Ched suing us for exactly ?

It's a puzzle, the only thing I can think of is that someone connected with the club at the time of his release made some sort of promise of employment to him which could then be challenged in the courts for breach of promise when that was rescinded when the mob went apeshit.

It could be Evans' word against the clubs unless someone was stupid enough to put it in writing which you would hope they would have the sense not to do.

But at around that time we were stupid enough to sign a bloke on the basis of a YouTube highlights package and make him captain so you never know.

Only thing I can think of is that we might have promised him a new contract if he was acquitted in 2012.

Or what Harry's Game said

I cannot see that Evans has any cause of action against SUFC. Our relationship with him was contractual and after he was sent down and could not fulfil his term of the contract by playing for us then we were entitled to dismiss him. I understand that KM paid him from his personal funds some "compensation" but that was entirely voluntary. In fact if anyone has a a claim it would be SUFC against Evans as we could argue that his conviction arising from his behaviour resulted in us failing to get promoted and that has certainly cost the club a considerable loss.
He might have a claim against his first set of lawyers if he could show that the advice they gave was negligent but that is very unlikely and very difficult to prove.
Obviously no one can stop him from bringing a case but he (or his father in law) would have to fund it and it is likely they would be advised it was good money after bad.

Some fucking solicitor somewhere will tell him he has a good case.
