I could foresee the resigning of Ched being a possible upset

why would he resign ? given the trouble he's been through what could make him resign, in fact, I can't remember the last time I heard of a footballer resigning, asking for a transfer, possibly even retiring or even being sacked - but its just not a word you hear in connection with footballers' careers......?
