Out in the cold at the sty. Despite not admitting it, it seems there might have been a fall out with him and Carvalhal. Not sure he'd be willing to drop to league 1 but surely worth asking the question. Would improve our midfield significantly.

Too good for our league Dane, God knows what the porkie manager is thinking.

Has a rep for being a bit of a mardy git so maybe the grunters are seeing that side to him now.

Watford certainly wanted shut, even when they were in the championship.

He wouldn't come anyway.

Come on if we took a Wednesday player we would never hear the last oc it

Would anyone take him?

A proper footballer, great goal scoring record and good set piece taker. No slouch either.

With the unclean which tarnishes him a bit but his face doesn't fit, he'll be on his travels in January and I'd take him in a heartbeat. Would allow him to stay in the area if settled and would comfortably be our best midfielder.

Have always liked him and would love it if we got a deal done.

No chance of it happening, we are in league one and he's a top championship player. I'm sure he's still in and around the team just not a regular for them.
Yesterday that Lopez got injured in the centre of the park and they brought a wide player on rather than McGugan.
He's pretty much done there, although I'd expect someone like Huddersfield will be at the front of the queue surely we have a chance if we go in for him?

Didn't they pay a paltry sum for him? Like 300k, not a huge amount for someone who seems to be a good player (too good for League One i guess)

he's like Baxter....looks half arsed most of the time but then pops up with a magic moment here and there...his work rate is abominable!

You can only have one player like him in a team, but yes I would take him without a seconds thought - He is miles above the quality of this league. This is about as realistic as us signing Jordan Rhodes.

If you can only have one, he'd definitely be the one.
I really think it's realistic, just depends if we are willing to spend a few quid in wages. I'd say he won't be on much more than Collins to be honest.

We're signing Jordan Rhodes?

I thought we were trying to move away from big Championship earners who are on a downwards trajectory? I'd rather have someone younger with something to prove and a bit of hunger.

Not sure I would class him as on a downward trajectory Ziggy, at 27 he is probably at his peak. Comes from Nottinghamshire, so may want to stay in the area. I am sure other Championship clubs would snatch him up though, I don't see SUFC as an exciting proposition for someone like him, if I am being honest.

Chris Burke is also out of favour at Forest at the moment, for whatever reason Dougie Freedman hasnt played him this season. I know he's hit his 30s now but he has always been a hard working player, got plenty of nouse and craft on the ball and can put a great cross in from anywhere down the right hand side. No slouch cutting across either..i wouldnt put him beyond your means of acquiring him.

(Apologies ive put this on a Mcgugan thread lol)

I always liked Burke. We should have tried for him when we were back in the championship instead of people like Yeates.

No substance to this at all but just seen that he has been made available for transfer by Wednesday.

Granted people will have to get over the fact we'd be signing a cast off from them, but he is only 27 and still a very good player. From Derbyshire as well so may favour a move nearby.

Very good player, but if we are qubbling over Clarke, we won't get near him money wise (wages I mean). He'd go to another Championship club I reckon.

Transfer listed at Wednesday - is a midfielder... championship quality so i doubt he'd come to us... but if he's on transfer list then it makes it a little bit more possible

Apologies, as wasn't sure where to stick this thread as he's not rumoured to be linked to ourselves but:

Pork Talk saying he's off to Bolton on loan

If so, would be a good signing for them. Odd no Champs clubs have been in for him?

Already the pig comments are out hoping he derails our promotion push :D
