Our first Match of the Day appearance.
David Munks broke his leg in that match and was replaced by sub Frank Barlow. It didnt show the incident in youtube but it might do in the BT Sports programme
Ive got our three MotD appearances from that season on DVD in full.
Ive got our three MotD appearances from that season on DVD in full and always meant to do a season video for the year. Sadly, they were not good results. Also, at 40 minutes each, I don't know if anyone would sit through two hours of it.
We were scheduled to be on away against Liverpool that season on April 2nd, but the match was postponed because of snow.
Arsenal, Northampton and who is the other?
Just remembered. West Ham

I didn't rate Kettleborough. Was he coming to the end of his career?Just watched the recording. Glad BT Sport did provide subtitles. Ken Wolstenholme said that the MOTD programme that evening would be the first time for viewers in the North to see the programme as BBC2 was now available in the North. Didnt know that!
Wolstenholme got it wrong when Woody assisted Reece's goal (he said it was Mick Jones who provided the assist) also when Munks got down injured near the end of the first half, the commentator thought it was Mallender. Munks bravely carried on playing for the rest of the half and for the first few minutes of the second half before collapsing again (he hadnt realised he had broken his leg) and Frank Barlow replaced him.
Arsenal's 4th goal was never a goal.
Joe Shaw played some neat football
Got transferred to Newcastle after the 2-2 draw at home to Northampton on New Years Day 1966. In late 1966 he became player manager of Doncaster Rovers and then in 1967 he moved to ChesterfieldI didn't rate Kettleborough. Was he coming to the end of his career?
Yep, BBC2 has been around for years now SB.Ken Wolstenholme said that the MOTD programme that evening would be the first time for viewers in the North to see the programme as BBC2 was now available in the North. Didnt know that!
