Rob Staton is a Blade

Turned out for Owlstalk FC AFAIK.

Most certainly not a Blade. And if he's suddenly decided he is well... that's even worse.

And I understand Paul Walker started taking his kids to Hillsborough. I believe there was a falling out with McCabe and Warnock back in the day which soured Walker's relationship with the club. "Massive" pinch of salt required with anything coming from him, directly or via proxy.

that's fkin shocking

Fall out or not, you don't do things like that

Sounds like some sort of split personality disorder?

Well. You think you've got a bit of juicy gossip, you come on here expecting to farm some likes, and you find out some bloke on the train was taking the piss. Can you excuse me for a moment, lads? I've got to go and get all this egg off my face.

I never understand why people have to hide it in media. As just thinking of Gary Lineker (Leicester), Jeff Stelling (Hartlepool), Phil Thompson (Liverpool) Charlie Nicholas (Arsenal) & Jake Humpfrey/Simon Thomas (Norwich) if anything it probably helped there career

Seen Walker coming out of the South Stand about a dozen times in the last 2-3 years.

Tell you what, you can have a like for this post instead.

He can't be a Blade.

Everybody ever employed by Radio Sheffield and The Star are massive Sheffield Wednesday fans and hate United.

So I'm told anyway.

Where i live i get bbc radio berkshire, three counties radio and bbc london.

Radio Sheffields football team and daily phone ins show up all those stations. It's a real cut above most local stations especially for match commentary

He had thousands of posts under the name of Indianna on PorkTalk , He tries but quite often fails to be impartial and it is easy to tell where his loyalties lie , but Rob is getting better .

Everywhere I've been and listened, the standard of commentary and coverage hasn't been in the same league as RS.

After the game yesterday (and after a celebratory pint in the Blue Boar) my dad and I triumphantly headed back to London on't train. This fella clocked our Blades shirts, and started chatting to us. Turns out he's Paul Walker's brother. Very nice bloke, super-friendly. Gave us some interesting gossip about certain people that I won't repeat here (Would probably get a stern PM from Foxy/Linz directly after) but one thing I can say is that he was adamant that Rob Staton, contrary to what a lot of us think, is a full-on Red-And-White, pig-hating Blade. I was surprised, and it took a while for him to convince me. But Staton's a Blade. Officially. There you go.

I was in the boar drinking with PW's brother after the game, I know him through a friend of mine.

No he isn't Rob is 100% a Wednesday fan my Dad knows his Dad and Rob is 100% Wednesday. I'm not in the know about anything but I do know Rob Staton is a Wednesday fan.
Yes know his cousin. Definitely Wednesday but ok as presenter for me.

One of my pet peevs with RS is

'Number one for sport across South Yorkshire and north Derbyshire'.

I can reluctantly tolerate the outer reaches of South Yorkshire like Doncaster - although other local radio stations don't have to tolerate so many places and I think Radio Sheffield should concentrate on Sheffield.

But I don't see why we have to endure Chesterfield related stuff as part of the 'and North Derbyshire' bit?

Fuck em. Let Radio Derby or Radio bloody bakewell or whatever deal with them.

Peak FM cover Chesterfield in the main

Ok. So let Peak FM cover them for phone in's and match updates. One less annoying distraction on Blades player.

Which brings me on to peev number 2.
Why, when I pay a fair bit for Bladesplayer, do I have to listen to pig, dingle, roverum, pikey and chesterfield match updates? I know the answer is that they just take an RS feed. But I don't think that is satisfactory when you are paying for the service.

Wasn't there an incident recently when they put a pig commentary on it instead of ours?

I couldn't care less who each presenter supports.

Pigs think Radio Sheffield and the Star show bias towards us. We think the complete opposite. Donny, Dingles and Rotherham supporters think it's unfair to everything outside of Sheffield.
People on the right side of politics think the BBC is run by commies and SJWs. People on the left think there's an underlying right wing bias to everything they broadcast.

It's impossible to be entirely impartial. Take what you want from something and don't get too upset when there's something said/written that's not as favorable as you would want.

I understand it that Paul walkers child was a mascot at the lane in the not too distant past.. understood with my own eyes.... bringing his kids up the right way

Live and let live there's a lot more to contend with in life other than if something annoys you on local radio or the Star.
There's always the on/off button

Glad to hear it... but as per Sitters' post, the poor little sod did have to go to the Sty first!
