Wilder to Hull?

I made a rumour up 3 weeks ago in Nottingham about a florist player,48 hours later it had done the rounds his price had gone up 1.5 million but still going to the same club.

My dads best mates lass is a friend of the hull directors daughter who knows a man who said this

Wilder to Hull.

It is a bit like the Sharp to Barnsley and Burton rumours.

None of them will happen because effectively if Wilder went to Hull, or Sharp went to Barnsley or Burton, there is a very good chance that the Blades will be in a better position than any of those three clubs during the summer.

ya know what feels great, we have a manager who is not only doing a great job but who actually wants that job more than me, for Wilder to leave he would have to be sacked and escorted of the premises and even then he would try fight his way back in. I maybe getting ahead of myself here but never been so confident of keeping our main striker and our manager(not that we have had many of late worth taking)

You have to hope that Chris has a long term plan and promoting the club he supports is more important than a short term financial gain. There was an idiot Dingle on radio Sheffield earlier talking about Billy Sharp as a replacement for Winnal, they don't seem to understand, for those two there is a chance to achieve something really special that is bigger than money.

The futures bright as long as nobody mentions the word compensation to our Kevin, and then "Hey, I couldn't stand in thier way"!

Was it Jud? Did he also say that "Billy is faster than our Kes"?

Chris Wilder is doing a brilliant job for us, but I very much doubt that a club, in the Premier league, with foreign owners, would be looking to a Manager of a third tier club, albeit one that is top of the table. Expect someone from abroad to be arriving at Hull in the not to distant future.

I keep repeating this....trust me....no PL club would dream of giving Chris Wilder a job.
His CV is terrible, only 1 promotion at 4th division level (big wow) and has no relevance for the PL.
There would be a massive uproar and fans would accuse their clubs of total incompetence.
The only way you can sometimes get round this is if the manager had links with thar club.
Wilder has links with Brighton, Notts Co, Bradford, Rotherham and Charlton, non of those in the PL.

It's like us bringing in the manager of Hallam FC because he's doing so well in the non league.
Even if we appointed the Mourinho of the Concord Park league winning the Sheffield league and cup double
Our fans woud go mad and laugh at the idea if appointing someone like Brian the Blade.

I agree completely with your logic but..........

....it must be absolutely hilarious on the Swansea forums now they've appointed a man who has only managed once, in the division below the Premier League and he was sacked after a few months.

I digress, and I'm not saying CW will go though.

I agree you can apply the same logic to Paul Clement, but having worked with some of the best players, managers and coaches currently in the game over the past 10 years has helped build his reputation!

I don't understand why anyone thinks that Wilder would stick with us because he's a blade.

Say we go up and end up in Rotherham's position this time next year, you can guarantee that the board and a decent percentage of the support wouldn't show Wilder any loyalty. So why should Wilder be loyal to us should an opportunity arise to progress his career?

So you think we will do a Rotherham!
get real there's no chance of that or Wilder going to Hull.He has unfinished business at Bramall lane

Wilder will show loyalty to us......but within reason of course.
If a club throws stupid money at him then of course he'll be interested and I wouldn't blame him.

For the past 15 years he's shown to be a great operator in the non league and at league 2 level.
So I agree he'll be in big demand for several years to come in the lower leagues.

He's not achieved anything at league 1 or Championship level.
No experience at working at a club bigger than Sheff Utd.

Also I think Wilder is straight talking and has a touch of the Paolo Di Canio about him.
He makes it clear he's the boss, player attitude and work ethic is more important than actual ability.

At at PL club he'd try to lay down the law and the players would probably revolt and go on strike.
His modest playing career and poor cv means he could get laughed out of town and he'd struggle to gain respect. As long as we get promoted this season I can see us having Wilder for a long time.

no chance of chris going to hull in any case both clubs will be in the championship next season and were a bigger club than dull anyway

Hull reportedly looking at Rowett. A more likely rumour. What about Heckingbottom at the Dingles? He has done an amazing job and on a shoe string. Can't see our Chris jumping ship. He's got his dram job and all going well. He's also getting financial backing.

So you think we will do a Rotherham!

When did I say I think we would be as bad as Rotherham should we get promoted? All I'm saying is that in similar circumstances, Wilder would be out on his arse and what he has previously achieved and who he supports would soon be forgotten. We wouldn't show him any loyalty, so I don't expect much loyalty in return.

Unfinished business and being a Blade would only go so far should a very good offer come in.

Hull City, what a joke club they are, what did they expect Phelan to do with that squad, a half full stadium and an owner who knows jack shit about football?

I hope and pray that they appoint Alan Pardew, he'd be a perfect fit :D
Or megson,or Dave Jones or jewell for that matter!!

I think we might be saved by Marco Silva, not that we ever needed saving. :)

I think they will be saying the same thing after we crawled back to them to flog them Maguire on the cheap
Don't think Wilder will want the job, I think it will take a miracle to keep them up and we might be playing them next year

Brian the Blade and Hull, now that's a plan.

There seems to be quite a bit of a whiff of it around right now. Do you think we've got them worried?
No, they're too stupid to be worried. It's just that it's the JTW and school holidays, always a fateful combination. If I was 12 I'd be on Porktalk trying to convince them that Forestieri had punched Fletcher during training and Carvahal was the first choice candidate for some Portuguese club I'd found on Google. And saying shit like 'I've been a season ticket holder since the days of Brian Joicey'.
