Interesting to see the reaction to his "crime" given McNulty gets no end of stick for wearing a jumper.

Strange that. I see Bert as more of a Compo....

Noooooooooooooooo. Its much worse than that. He wears it over his shoulders with the sleeves tied together whilst he's sucking a lollipop.

You must get your FACTS right.

There is some truth to the above.

For example my mother is in her 70's and hardly knows anything about football, been to 1 United match in her life in 1980. But even she recently said "Wednesday have always had great support, much better than United. It's common knowledge" and "Wednesday have always filled their stadium"

So I told her that Wednesday were famous for their massive number of empty blue seats.
I also told her that Wednesday haven't averaged over 30,000 for 50 years.

She didn't seem to believe me, genuinely surprised and said she thought it was common knowledge that Wednesday had really big support. Made me smile that even she has this misconception.

I took the kids to the panto at City Hall the other day and they made a joke about a United bra with "no cups and very little support" despite the fact we've won the FA cup more times and enjoy similar support. The myth that keeps on giving.

That really is a mahatma foot type post 1DW. :)

No, the one you posted the picture of yourself in back on BU, think it was £5 off the market.
Bert still has that photo somewhere..... he could disprove your theory.

This was a pretty childish piece of journalism, and it doesnt surprise me, given The Star's S6 leanings.

Thanks to the poster who went back through some of the obviously biased articles and headlines over the years - it's quite telling how anti-SUFC they have been. I stopped buying it years ago, and never will again.

Just taken a minute and a rudimentary Google search to address a few of these!

This is my post from elsewhere, could post another for Radio Sheffield
just as bad:

People should remember the Star's recent editorial lines re United on
all important issues:

No condemnation for Wednesdays administration and ripping off of local
businesses.

- Didn't go into Admin.

Tevez Affair: football should be decided on the pitch regardless of
any impropriety by West Ham or the FA.

http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/foot...irness-in-football-join-our-petition-1-351550

World Cup bid: no opposition to Wednesday getting the proposed gig,
despite bid relying on money from the public purse. McCabe had offered
to fund the Blades bid. Also wider questions about propriety of
Wednesdays bid not mentioned by Star, despite McCabe's comments

www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united/blades-world-cup-bid-1-234472

Focus on human right record of Saudia Arabia after the Prince got
involved.

- Any evidence of this? I certainly can't remember that, or find any

Editors opposition to SUFC allowing the released Evans to continue his
rehabilitation at SUFC once released.

- Evans was a convicted rapist at the time, and they were the Ed at the time's views, not the paper's

No opposition to his signing for Chesterfield.

- His conviction had been quashed by then

A succession of racist incidents among Wednesday fans, not being given
the primacy that they'd have no doubt got if it was Blades fans
involved.

No condemnation of Wednesdayites actions in Palace relegation match.

http://www.thestar.co.uk/whats-on/out-and-about/owls-could-escape-fa-charge-1-855957
'Fans of both teams invaded the pitch and there were some scuffles between them as police and stewards tried to keep order. Palace defender Clint Hill was assaulted by Wednesday fans. There was also trouble outside the ground involving supporters and the police.'

Condemnation of Marlon King signing.

- Any evidence of this? I certainly can't remember that, or find any

Since you seem to be attacking the letter of this post and not the semantics, I'll do the same to yours.
The above statement does not say Wednesday went into 'administration', it says the administration of Wednesday and how they left local businesses out of pocket.
If you're not going to get the first thing straight in your post then it's proved to be an unreliable response.
