What do you reckon pommpey?
This must mean that McCabe plans on selling at least two of our star players?

Let it be said, Bert is ITK about stuff behind the scenes at BDTBL.

Bert should be aware that stranger things have happened just after Christmas in the past few years. Pommpey reserves his tub thumping until 01 Feb 2017 and hopes the arrival of pissy heralds a new way of 'backing the manager'.

Do you think he will play alongside Coutts, fleck and Duffy or is one of them likely to drop to the bench, assuming he will be soon starting in the first eleven

We might play with 4 in midfield more often which would accommodate him - and what a midfield that would be.

He can come in for any of the current 3 so if there's any reason at all to leave one of them out, he'll be straight in.

I think we might start to see more rotation with team selection.

Looks exciting

I posted this a few days ago, but no harm doing it again. CW's wry smile in the first few seconds says it all, "yes we have signed someone, and no, I am not going to say who it is".

He talks about a wide player, mentions the loan situation with EEL and Lafferty, etc. (is Lafferty on a full season loan to us?, could Carruthers be replacing him?).

I like this signing he's young, talented and has scope to improve and be an asset at Championship level. If he doesn't work out he shouldn't be too difficult to move to a League one club (Robinson at Charlton would certainly take him). For this reasoning also see Lavery, Fleck, Hussey, O' Connell, Moore...

McNulty: "Your round, Samir. Get em in."
Carruthers: "No worries..."

I hope you're bloody happy, that post made me laugh really loud in the middle of my office and my manager told me off for being on my phone!

Top signing. Looks like Scougall will struggle to fit in now.
Good point and if wiki is to be believed Samir is the same height as Scougall and its fairly obvious successful sides can only have so many midgets. Good luck Samir and I hope it goes well but can our next signing have a few more inches please.....

Anyone know any good jokes about fax machines or sofas in Belgium?...
This fax machine is one big fckoff joke...

From what i've seen of Samir, he is only good decision making away from playing in the Premir league, that seems to be the only thing that's held him back from the games i've seen him play which is around the double figure mark, he's at the right age still though where a manager like CW can help him and guide him to make better decisions and this could yet prove to be our best signing and there have been some good ones.

He can play out wide, through the middle and is a very tricky all round Midfielder. He will add more goals to his game playing for us, that I have no doubt, his touch is very good, gets stuck in and has the drive to succeed, what is there not to like?

If you’re right in that his decision making is his only real weakness, it might be Alan Knill’s work with him on the training ground that really is the making of him.

On the face of it this looks a good signing.

Strengthen our squad whilst weakening another. (although they wont be challenging us any time soon!)

So we now look well stocked in midfield.

So what now for the likes of Reed, Scougall?

Will brooks be sent out on loan?

Hes the dirty twat who pissed over the balcony at cheltenham.Alls forgiven if he plays well
Will rephrase that.He pissed in a pint glass and someone else lobbed it onto grass with no one below. Not his best moment but we,ve all got a past so hopefully it was out of character.

AK already deserves a lot of credit this season and you're probably right because we have a gem for this league anyway and beyond if he continues to improve with as you say, the right coaching and his willingness to learn.

To be fair to him, the toilets were chocker.

First words from The Carruther:

http://www.sufc.co.uk/news/article/2016-17/sheffield-united-samir-carruthers-3500123.aspx

Samir Carruthers has admitted that he was delighted to see the announcement that his transfer to United had been completed.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who signed a three-and-a-half year Blades contract after an undisclosed fee with MK Dons was agreed, waited patiently for the formalities to be finalised.

"I completed the medical on Monday and signed my paperwork, it was then just a case of waiting," said Samir. "I was like a kid waiting to see the announcement, refreshing my phone until it was done on Tuesday morning.

"I'm buzzing, I can't wait to get started with the lads. I don't know any of the lads but I'm sure they will be a welcoming bunch from what the manager has told me.

"Chris Wilder seems like a great bloke and I'm really looking forward to working with him and the coaching team."

Samir, who played for Aston Villa earlier in his career, is keen to make his S2 bow, adding: "I've played at Bramall Lane a couple of times and the atmosphere is unreal. I've won and lost but what has always struck me is the passionate fans, I've got no doubt that it is going to be a special place to play."

It needn't be if we bag ourselves a few players who blend in with the emerging ability Wilder has forged. If we have a strike partner for Billy Sharp (and as people have said, cover for his absence), a winger ... ooh, like Murphy ... who has goals and assists in him and possibly some reinforcement at the left back/wing back, then the run in to May will be interesting.

Oh, and we don't need to sell anyone who is doing the business for us, or course. Like before. And before that. And before that as well.

So all we've done is signed another piss head right? We berated a guy for wearing a sweater like a twat and quaffing copious amounts of the fermented vegetable product.....but....this guy pisses in a pint pot and hes 'The Man', right?

Probably partly because this new lad seems to care, McNulty not so much.
