Could someone explain why the bottom corner of the H block is still verboten. Since the BLLT is now out of bounds too, what is the point of segregating one lot of empty seats from, er, another set of empty seats.

When we go up next season (yes we will, don't get your knickers in a twist you naysayers), SUFC need to sort out the seating policy because as things are the ground capacity is 26,000.

yep, fair dos......The situation, for me, demands an explanation (officially) from the club.

If it was a simple case of the ticketing system going wrong, they should be big enough to own up to it and ensure it can't happen again.

No seats, plenty of beer, could have caused some problems not needed.

When we scored we all got pushed down a few rows with the surge. Definitely made me miss terraces!

Looking at that photo I was in the same exact spot for the derby against Wendy, the one where we were cruising at 2-0 until two hoofed balls into Simmondsen resulted in two goals. The atmosphere was cracking everyone in the ailes and the crowd rush with our goals made me nostalgic for terracing.

In fact yesterday it was similar in C block in the kop at the back, the five people sitting in front of me actually moved to stand in the ailes with their mates. Atmosphere was genial no falling out, female Steward made a half- hearted attempt to move them but it was good humoured and smiles all around

26000? is that correct...............seems to be a lot of gaps in the away end and yet yesterday's attendance was 25800......mind you sounds like at least a 1000 were squashed up at the top of the Kop?!

I think you will find that since the flare hit an S6 supporter in the BLUT a few years ago (plus other issues too), the H&S crowd have put us and continue to do so under special measures.

Whilst we are in this division I would expect it to continue. Larger crowds back in the Championship should result in the ground safety being reviewed and the h&S risk assessments altered accordingly.

Having seen H&S at work in the Construction industry for many years now - you can't have a shit without them getting involved.

Think I may have seen the aftermath of that. The "old boy" wasn't that old, unless it was a different incident. That group are always having jolly japes a mix of males and females who seem to spend more time joshing with each other than watching the match. Not those sort of " jolly japes"

Had a season ticket for many, many, many years mate. My employment contract ended over the summer so I decided to start a business, so I couldn't commit an all out expense to one. We've been to almost every game this year! Cup games included!

Would have got a half-season ticket, but there was absolutely no saving to be had over buying tickets on a per-game basis. In fact, with the £10 additional ticket offer with today's ticket it actually works out cheaper to buy individual tickets than a half-season ticket! If there was a saving to be had I'd have got one (I'd have actually got 3 or maybe even 4, kids included!).

I still don't see the logic in closing the bottom corner of the South Stand though (especially as BLLT is closed). In the past, the flares were thrown from higher up in the stand and if I was planning on launching one into the away end, would do so from higher up as it would be easier/go further.

I know it's been brought up in the past, but look at grounds in the Premier League (White Hart Lane, Old Trafford, Emirates, Stamford Bridge etc.) with just a row of stewards and maybe police separating the opposing fans. However, at Bramall Lane there needs to be a postcode separating home and away fans.

The club needs to address this. I would imagine that a significant proportion of the 5k extra we had yesterday were half-season tickets which started yesterday. They will have been on the database for a while.
The club probably didn't sell many more matchday tickets than usual, so it's a bit worrying that a potential public safety hazard was created out of it.

Arrived at our seats to find the entire row full. Said "excuse me mate, you're sat in my seat". "Nope. Season ticket holder", came the reply.

We'd actually booked more than one seat (all taken), but the kids couldn't make it due to being ill last night. I was a bit dubious about the season ticket claim, until 8 more people turned up who'd also booked tickets on the same row (and seats). They weren't the last to turn up with tickets for the same seats! The entire top of the gangway was heaving with people without seats, all double booked. It was so bad you couldn't tell the difference between the aisle and the seats with everyone stood up!

TBH, it wasn't the end of the world, I'd have stood anyway, and everyone was very good about it (no arguments, just people laughing at the absurdity of it all). Also, the atmosphere was cracking with so many people crammed into the top corner of the Kop.

The stewards came and had a bit of a word, before realizing what had occurred (again, no drama, everyone very polite about it).

Not sure what happened, but the powers that be need to get a hold of the situation. I'd also guess the crowd figure was underestimated!

Steward came down where we were sat (Kop row F) and asked to check tickets of a young women with 2 kids behind. Moved them into 3 seats in row D, but I didn't see anyone move into the seats she vacated, didn't get that????

Well yeah, I reckon so. If you look at yesterdays scenario, Oldham were allocated 3000 tickets (my guess) out of which they sold 3 or 4 hundred. This leaves 2600 unsold. Add this to the 3000 BLLT, 500 netted off BLUT, 300 verboten in the H block and you have 6400 empty seats not for sale. Subtract this from ground capacity and you get 26,000. Phew!

OK, the above figures are approx and Oldham selling all their allocation would have lifted the total to 28000, but that still leaves a load of seats left empty in the name of segregation.

Where were you sat ? I always go in Section C at the back and it always seems calm and relaxed. I was sat next to a young pleasant couple, who were polite and well mannered, the other side of me were two quiet kids around 12 years old. There was no foul and obscene language. There's a group of middle aged fans in front of me who are regulars and very well behaved.

To be honest I went in the South Stand for years and behaviours and language was much much worse.

The chap was late 50's to 60ish but let's not let that detract from the main point of the people standing in the gangways that could've caused this.

As for the younger males/females that are off to the toilets/refreshments every 5 minutes and don't look like they're taking the slightest bit of notice to the game. I blame myself for purchasing tickets on the the day of the game and ending up with them .
The only plus point is that we got to stand all game as people were fed up of getting up and down for them.

Bloke I'm talking about was mid 40s and the bunch he sits with are quite entertaining actually. I also didn't notice the frequent comings and goings that other fans are talking about.
It's probably a side effect of all seater stadiums where people feel infringed when someone has to go past them. That said, it is football, not a Theatre or Cinema. I deliberately don't drink before the match because I'd be continually going to the toilet and bothering folk.

Doubt that. If bought in time the half St holders got into Swindon game too with no big uplift on that crowd. I reckon 500-1,000 sold. No real discount on prices the probable reason.

Expect most games without significant away followings to be 20-22k for rest of season so no issues like yesterday .

As I'm getting on a bit now, my bladder has weakened quite a bit. So after a couple of pre-match pints and especially in the cold weather, I'm up and down like a jack-in-the-box, especially during the first half. I'm not a season ticket holder so don't sit in the same seat and therefore not annoying the same people every week, but some do get quite arsey y'know.

So I will try to encounter you in future Mr Cahill and test your tolerance to the limit!

I doubt the bit in bold to be honest: a home game on Boxing Day will always see some part timers going to an occasional game, either to escape the family or because they're actually in Sheffield when a games on (or both).

I love BDTBL but there are some significant nettles to grasp if we're ever to sell out again. The problem is that the element of our fanbase which goes to games to chuck stuff at opposition fans doesn't see that they're the reason for the restrictions. That said, there was nothing stopping the little Cockney scrotes above us at Upton Park hanging over the front of the tier spitting at the Blades below so it's not something for which all clubs are treated equally.

Tell me about it. I was sat half way up A block on the kop yesterday and didn't know whether to go up the steps or down to reach the bogs adjacent to the south stand. Whilst I spent time weighing up the options I pissed mesen!

Me neither. Used to have a season ticket on there until about 10 years ago - then I transferred to the South Stand to be with a better class of supporter! It isn't all sunshine and roses though! This season we have been joined by a bunch of chaps who arrive 10 minutes late for each half of every game, stinking of beer. I timed it yesterday. To be fair they were only about 3 minutes late arriving for the kick off and about 5 minutes late joining for the second half. Much improved! Well done to them!

Within the first 20 minutes of the game they had got up to go to the toilet or for "refreshments" a total of 6 times. At half-time the number of times we had to stand up to let them past was 10. In the second half we had to stand up to let them past a further 8 times. So, 18 times in one match then. Now, sometimes they have children with them and as a parent I know that you just can't legislate for kids, so that's ok, I've no problem with that at all. But the adults should be old enough to hold their watter a bit better than this I think?

I moved on from the kop, mainly because I couldn't stand the piss-heads going to the toilet or for a pie every 5 minutes, but it seems the piss-heads are now in the South Stand as well.

Maybe we should put the prices up much higher and try and price them out of it? Or get standing areas back on the kop so they don't even need to go to the toilet for a piss but can just do it there and then on the spot, like back in the good old days!

I know what you mean with people wanting to get past you all the time, yesterday's game was particularly disruptive in that respect. It was like a new style of Mexican Wave.

Usual ticket is in kop but brought me brothers along yesterday so opted for Westfield corner as we're all over 6ft.

Can't fault the facilities here at all. Brilliant view and if anyone fancies standing all game most folk I think would simply wish you luck given the gradient.

First half the atmosphere was typical for that side of ground.... BUT notable mention to the south stand who rather oddly piped up second half (when game was actually pretty shit) and this got some noise out the corner. This then spurred the kop on and for a few mins it felt like it did in a big game. Nothing quite like hearing both ends making a din even if to different chants.

Cap tipped to the (probably arseholed) chaps that persisted in the South.
