Ridiculous OP. Can't play well every game but we still had the character to get a win. Coutts was off it as were a few others but I still owe it largely to Oldham playing well. The main thing we did wrong was not winning the second ball. Clarke did well when he came and may have bagged on another day. The reason he came on was to impose himself on the game as HIMSELF. Why would Wilder put Clarke on for Done and tell him to play like Done? He makes the CHANGE because thats what it is! A CHANGE! Some people really dont understand football at all im sorry. That game needed Clarke and Wilder knew that and thats why he's a football manager doing a very good job.

It wasn't about playing well. It was about a shit no effort 45 minutes. What is the problem some people have with criticism? I haven't slagged off your bird/bloke,I've observed MY football team deliver a very unconvincing effort against the worst team in the league. If all people do is suck dick whatever shit we turn out we'll get nowhere.
I'm pretty certain Wilder delivered a much bigger round of fucks to them than my OP.

Both good posts. Oldham matched our formation and made it hard for us, but we were poor in the first half and there's nothing wrong with considered criticism.

That's precisely how I saw it. Leon Clarke is a joke quite frankly.

Also, Coutts had a fucking shocker today but that will never be acknowledged by the Golden Boy fan club.

Largely agree regarding Coutts, also thought Fleck did naff all today, bar a few decent corner kicks.
Players will always have off games though and they haven't let us down much this season so far.

3 points and we go again.

Leon Clarke played very well. Only those with an agenda would disagree. The fact that most would have brought Lavery on instead is perhaps correct but utterly irrelevant.

Leon is a good player. He played a big part in changing the game today. Anyone looking for a joke need look no further than the striker who doesn't strike but runs around aimlessly quite a lot.

Let's be honest,we were utter gash for 45 minutes. We can't play the "They parked the bus card", because give them credit, they didn't.
Our midfield was slow, static and largely disinterested and our standards were woeful. I fail to understand how professionals can take so little pride or interest in their jobs in front of a bumper crowd and an opportunity to keep them with a display of spaekling attacking football and a few goals. No this is Sheffield United.
Wilders half time team talk should have consisted of 10 well aimed kicks up arses,(I exempt Moore) and nothing more.
The introduction of Clarke actually paid off although in honesty I'd have hoped for Lavery.
One thing I noticed was how Clarke does absolutely none of Dones off the ball work which at one point led to Oldham bringing out an excellent save from Moore.
1 out of 10 first half.
7 out of 10 second.
We need to take hold of games from the get go at home. Today was piss poor with massive over elaboration and lack of off the ball movement throughout.
3 points but yet again we fail to deliver in front of a big crowd.
Thank God for Billy.
For gods sake....cheer up, we won!...we can't be world beaters every week!

In the first half all three of our central midfielders were not at the races, second half Duffy was a different player and both Fleck and Coutts also improved but not to the levels we have expected from them so far this season.

I just hope Fleck doesn't do here what he did last season at Coventry where he looked a world beater up to Xmas before fading second half of the season.

Coutts once again took an early knock as in the previous game and again went AWOL for long periods, I don't think he takes pain well.

Your accusation against those with an agenda made me chuckle though. Not that you have an agenda against Done is it? ;)

You are an absolute f*cking joke mate! 1st of all if you think we were utter gash where the hell were you last season you f*cking spam head? Get some perspective you total muppet! Have you heard of Hammond, Mceverley, Salmon and Woolford? Probably not because you obviously didn't come last season, and sound like one of them utter dick heads that only creeps out of the fanny batter they live in when we are doing well.

How f*cking dare you suggest they showed no pride or interest in the game. Seriously how f*cking dare you. I haven't finished tearing you off a strip yet you utter f*cking waste of semen but dinners ready

Think you are absolutely right there about Coutts. The memory of that (very serious and painful) injury still haunts him I reckon and he doesn't put himself about as much when gets roughed up early on.

I thought you would have realised by now ANY criticism of United on this forum labels you as a miserable negative fecker or worse a pig to most members.

I know that mate, sad isn't it. The kozzy thing is mate to mate though. We are ancient history on BM.

Yea,sorry mate. Only been going since 1970.
Great post. My bad.

I'm interested solely in what's best for our club, mate. I'm not sure how much more evidence people need to come to a common-sense conclusion about Done. The 'contributes to team' and 'always win when he plays' (last two victories achieved once he'd been hooked) lines are becoming threadbare. Perhaps when his record is stretched to 2 in 50 even the Runarounders might realise he's a talentless mediocrity who had one flash in the pan season.

Past caring about quality of performance. Give me 15 more 2-0 wins and we will be finally out of this league. In fact give me 15 1-0 crappy in off someones arse wins and I will be delighted

Give it a rest with the "mate" crap. You resemble William Hague when he wore that baseball cap.

All swings and roundabouts. There isn't a club in the league that will play well every week and win every game

We didn't play well. However, we got 3 points

We played well at Bolton and lost. We played well at Millwall and lost. I'll settle for getting them back to Bramall Lane, playing shit and winning

Like I say, swings and roundabouts

So you disagree with him?

Leon Clarke played well when he came on, though he missed a sitter. Am I missing a joke here?

The joke was all too conspicuous. It styles itself with supreme accuracy as a "shithouse"

The foolish, ill-informed, agenda-fuelled statement was made by the joke. Jokes like that have become a little too frequent on here. We could well do without them.

Agree with you there about the 2-0's but 15 crappy 1-0's via deflected arse cheek deflections would be too much for me to cope with. I sometimes find it hard to relax when we're 2-0 and running rings around the opposition in the 96th minute.

It's a Blade's thing you see.

Ooh proper fackin nawty.....

Seemed to me Fleck didn't want to know today either.
He was regularly waving defenders to pass wide or over the top when it was him that needed make the effort to get in space and move the ball on.
Wilders words about our 3rd/4th pass going astray were right, normally the ball has gone through Coutts and Fleck before the wing or up front. Today it rarely did.
I am no fan of his but Clark helped change the game today.

Clarke did well when he came on. Dones work sometimes goes unnoticed, not his best today. Done is part of a very effective formula surely that's not in question. Moore may as well have a deckchair on the pitch, I burn off more calories biting my nails than he does on a match day, couple of great saves today.

Not a great first half, boring as f**k actually. Second half was a cake walk if we're being honest. Duffy is so confident, cocksure actually, that I'll bet he can't believe he's getting paid so well for making everything look so easy. Half the time he has his back to the ball he's so nonchalant.
