if you went directly to online ticket site, like I always do, it wasn't made very clear that tickets are not being posted as normal. It should have offered choice of where to pick up, but apparently that was missing the other day.
After noon 31 Dec they will automatically get sent from S2 to Bury

I noticed on original notice no postal situation .
Did you ask the club if we can pick up match day at ticket collection point ? I.E. Boxing Day or n y eve games.

It was both ends of the ground and half of one side stand. I remember them giving us one final end a few days before. Bury fans were not arsed - they were just glad of the money. It might have been closer to 4,000? Cant remember. It was bizaree seeing Blades basically having most of the ground away from home. Not sure GMP would care as there is no rivalry to speak of and not sure there would be any trouble
Yeah we got an extra end at short notice and they made it so you could pay on the day. We didn't sell it out though, it was probably about two thirds full. If they had released it earlier we probably would have sold it out. It wasn't very well organised by them tbh.

It's sold out. my job to get the tickets. Last announcement they put on website they hadn't even sold the first f-ing allocation!

Bugger. I forgot about the general sale date due to travelling and have gone to buy and am in the same boat as you. Home end it is then! How easy is that to do? Can you pay on the gate?

They said can pick up anytime before noon on 31st. I replied to email and said I would pick up Boxing Day. They didn't reply so I assume that was ok

I ordered online and can't pick up from BDTBL so I rang and they said the tickets would be sent to Bury. There was no option during the ordering process to choose pick up at BDTBL or Bury, which makes it more complicated than necessary.

Logically, any tickets that haven't been picked up by the time the TO closes for new year would be sent to Bury anyway, as they aren't any use otherwise.

Seems Bury have imposed the no posting rule. Never had this from any other club, oddly enough I could have bought one direct from Bury online on same day and they would have posted it

I've never been to Bury and am looking forward to this one. If coming by train do you just switch to the tram at Picadilly?

Nope. You need to go to Victoria.

Few pints in central Manc then.

Incidentally Uber is showing a 20 quid fare from central Manc, could be worth it between 4

Last time I went to Gigg Lane was when Toddy got the first and Deano got the winner in our 3rd Division days - a day after my 15th birthday.

Spot the soon to be Blade on the cover of the programme....Silent should get it straight away...

I don't think they were the only ones "glad of the money" as I, my then better half & several hundred others paid cash on the door, old fashioned manned pedal turnstile & no ticket for seat issued.

As I recall it was £18 to get in .....but they'd "run out" of change when you offered up a Twenty...

Brentford have done it too in the past. I think it's something to do with not issuing two copies of the tickets. I remember being told something about it by the ticket office. I can't remember the exact details but I think the gist of it was if your ticket was lost in the post they didn't have the facility to replace it like most clubs do.

What's best time from train from Sheffield then, when's everybody departing sheffield?

You can leave Sheffield anytime between 8am and 1pm, depending how much supping you plan to do in the "capital of the north." My own departure time will be closer to 8 than 1.

Top tip: take an East Midlands Train to Manc. They are cheaper and more comfortable than the Trans Pennine ones and you're more likely to get a seat.

Think my departure may well be around the 11o'clock time from Sheffield as I'm taking my twin cubs with me and there only 7yrs so not to much supping for me I'm afraid on this away day, might sneak 3 or 4 in but definitely not 9 or 10,

My only visit was Jan 1962 third round cup. Needed 2 replays, second one at Hillsborough.
Another time for two replays was semi final against Leicester.

Just to let folks who are still wanting tickets know: If you call the ticket office they'll add you to the queue for returns.

And how's about Walsall please?? 2400 tickets, do you reckon it'll sell out? Will it go general sale? Cheers
Very clever avar :) Raimondo
Position of Morg's head looks like he's heading the blinking green dot denoting you are online - of course you can't see that on your own avar - but the rest of us can :)

Cheers pal, glad I'm helping the great man do keepie uppies. The true legend though, will be anyone who manages to do the same visual gag with Ebanks Landell's no doubt monumental shlong

Last time I went to Bury it pissed it down, Adkins stood on the touchline looking utterly lost, George Long played a blinder and those Blades there saw the worst performance by United since we've been down here....... and there have been a few

... all that, plus the pies were rubbish ... and it was BadBuy Jr's birthday. "Worst performance by United since we've been down here" is actually a masterful piece of understatement. Main reason we're going this time is to try to exorcise the last time !
