My first home was at the back of The Pork's north stand on Vere Road. I've supported the Blades all my life and had a season ticket for 30 years. Whilst living at S6 I've had to fight to defend my allegiance on many a night out in Hillsboro. I'm so proud to be an S6 Blade. Any similar experiences?

Also lived on Vere Road from 1964 to 1982, didn't know there was another Blade on the street. Best mates were pork, so never had any bother drinking down Hillborough.
 
Born and grew up in solid S8 Blades-land: Norton Lees with a view of the 5 floodlights at the Lane from the attic window. Beautiful. School full of Blades at Meersbrook Bank, save for literally one kid called Kristian who was the only Pig I ever met up until the age of 9. He wasn't really interested in football.

We moved to Stannington in S6 in 1982. Might have expected it to be a mirror image of Norton Lees, but it wasn't. Yes, there were a majority of people who said they supported the Filth, but there weren't many who actually went to the matches on a regular basis. There were plenty who would wash their car in a replica shirt on a weekend if they'd won or, later in the early 90's, get their car stickers to announce what big fans they were, but they never actually set foot in the Sty. Can only assume that the Pig support is drawn from other parts of S6, because it certainly wasn't Stannington.

At the same time, there was a hard core of United fans in the area and invariably, unlike the 'nowters' who "like to see Wednesday do well", they were committed fans who actually went to the matches. I went there and was immediately into the school football team as the captain. And, despite making up a much smaller proportion of the school, United fans provided a disproportionate number of players in the school team - typically 5 or 6 and that carried on throughout school.

So, my experience of S6 formed my firm view that United fans are a completely different and far superior breed to the Filth. I've honestly never met a Pig who I've regarded as being as into his club as I am. One positive of being exiled in North Leeds now is that I very rarely meet any of them now, but the occasional one that I do see merely confirms everything that I hold true about them. At work, there is a 50-odd year old bloke who hadn't been to the Sty for literally 20 years but briefly 'found football' in May this year; he got tickets for the entire family to go to Wembley. He is the sort of person that comprised a large chunk of their 'support' which they all got so giddy about i.e. Not really a supporter at all.

We're the proper club attracting proper football people. They're just a bunch of nowters.
 
S6 born and bred. Stannington for my first 13 years then Walkley. Left home at 23 and have since lived at Malin Bridge, Wadsley (not Wadsley Bridge) and now Wisewood. Both my next door neighbours are Blades, one of whom has a season ticket. Agree with those above that we are certainly a different breed. So many of the unclean around here like it to be known they are Wendies yet hardly ever set foot in the Sty. My other next door neighbour isn't a lane regular but it took me 5 years to realise his allegiance as unlike the other half he doesn't spout it from the rooftops. I know of one pig that never shuts up about them but has only been to 1 game (Wycombe when they went up) in years. He didn't even bother with Wembley cause it "was on't telly" Is there any other club that has so many pretend supporters who only jump on the bandwagon occasionally?
 
Lived in S10 until moving abroad,then Ecco and now Wadsley Bridge. Lot more Blades then you'd think but obviously outnumbered by pigs. Know loads of Blades thet use Rawson Spring and Legends,(now Hillsbro Tap),and that's a Blades pub anyway since that famous early morning takeover!!!
 
The first house I purchased was in Walkley, only lived there for a couple of years: too fucking hilly, you need to be a mountain goat! o_O
 
As has been documented before. Born at Luke Lane S6, a home, the back garden of which overlooked The Star Inn bowling green. (This is now the Wadsley Jack).Paternal grandparents buried in Wadsley Church and until aged 10 attended Wisewood School. Fortunately dad was a keen amateur footballer who played for Norton Woodseats so I was schooled properly in all matters football.
 
i live in s6 its not that bad pisses me off when i go in wetherspoons and see the bellends of hillsbrough on the wall ,miss piggy my season ticket bird lives near the sheaf
 
I spent a year in Hillsborough and would revel in setting off to the match in my Blades shirt while getting dirty looks from most.

I hope my year living in the wrong place is offset by the almost two years I spent living on Shoreham bang opposite the kop. Used to take 30 seconds from the house to my seat!

i used to live on lancing road and i was the same girlfriends house is 2 mins walk away
 
Actually, if it wasn't for my dads single-mindedness I shudder to think how I might have turned out.

He was from Parson Cross, a Piglet stronghold, his Dad was a Londoner who supported Millwall and his mothers family were all Wednesday. He had to choose to be a Blade.

Even then, by the time I was born he'd stopped actively following United home and away after they'd dismantled their best teams in the 70's, which is something he never fully forgave them for. Luckily, just enough of that passion had rubbed off on me and after a lot of persuasion he took me for the first time in 1997 when I was 12 years old.

So yes, I'm a Blade under pretty unlikely circumstances. And I'm grateful that I didn't turn out to be one of them.
 
our first home we could afford in 1973 was on Wynyard road opposite the park , was surprised how many blades lived in the area
paid 6250 pounds for it.lived there for 4 years until moving to chapeltown to a newer bigger 3 bed house that was 18950 pounds
sold that 10 years later for 65000

believe its a little harder to get on the property ladder now

my older brother bought his first house a brand new 3 bed semi in kiveton in 1964 for 2000 quid
then 20 years later paid twice as much for new double glazing

our house on lancing road cost £29,000 pound in 1989 bitch of an ex sold it a few years ago for over£100,000

I actually know a Wednesday fan that's got a season ticket for Rotherham because it's cheaper.
 
always remember watching United one year (Deano time) when we had tickets for the North Stand - there was a Blade living in a terrace house that overlooked the back of that stand - he had a blades flag on display out of the upstairs window :). Hope it was permanent - that would have really pissed them off each home game!

Unfortunately though it's still in Kiveton, so will still only be worth £2000!!

Raised in Walkley..... Dad(rip) was from Darnall..... thanks to him

Although my best mate who lived next door was a snorter..his older brother used to take him.. I went with them a couple of times (I was about 6 or 7)....

My Dad, bless him, never said a thing, just let me get on with it.. he knew I would see the light.. and I did... quickly..
 
I semi grew up on Morgan Avenue which wasn't too far from Hillsborough. Used to go to Watermead as a nipper. Don't think that school is there anymore? There was no chance I was going to be pork. My old man was a mad Unitedite home and away so it rubbed off on us all. We then moved to the opposite side of Sheffield to Batemoor. Then from Batemoor to Jordanthorpe. Lived on Lowesges for a few year now I'm back on Jordanthorpe. Got to love S8. It's full of Blades.
 
I lived on Dykes Hall Road (not far at all from the Sty) for a year or so a few years back. On the day of their relegation decider against Palace I mooched down to the co-op to buy some beers to enjoy while (hopefully) watching the bastards get relegated. As I was coming out and waiting to cross the road, a trio of trufflehunters trotted up to me and grunted "We're all W*******y aren't we?" I responded with a curt "are we fuck." Biggest snortbeast then informed me I was about to get "knocked the fuck out."

I've never been much of a fighter, so I took a certain amount of pleasure in pointing out the 3 coppers on horseback coming up the street behind them, then took my leave with a friendly goodbye ("I hope palace smash you out of sight and send you wankers down")
 
Spent most of my life on the south side of Sheffield but had a year at Firth Park 20 years ago (does S5 count as a pig area? north side, so probably ????). For home games there always seemed quite a few Blades on the buses in to town.

Ex-bird lived at Ecclesfield and there always seemed a fair few Blades knocking about around there. Remember regularly seeing a land rover with a big United badge over the spare tyre around Ecco. At the time thought, excellent, but at that end of town how long will the car last before some pig puts something through your window.
