On McNulty:

"At this rate they’ll insist we keep him. Bet their fans would have a right laugh if they read some of our comments.”

No lads, no laughter at all.

Good to see the Beard is playing well for both his sake and ours. A decent bloke who deserves success.

Wallace? Even the Tranmere fans who think he is a deity are waiting for him to break down again. Sad, very sad.

Thanks weirdo.

Interesting comments with regard to Brayford
He was not great at the start of the season but dont think he was fully fit or is his upturn in form just because he only wants to play for Negative Nigel

Ta, Roy.

What's the gig with Brayford? Was it a season-long loan or half a season? I'd like to bring him back and use him personally, because if he's back in form and fully fit, he's a cracker of a RWB and it gives us two players in that position. Failing that, I'd see if Burton want to cough up a fee for him.

Letting him see out the season on loan down there is the shit option for United. We get very little out of that.

Yes, interesting regarding Brayford, the player of old would be absolutely fantastic for us, and mcnulty? some rate him highly others think he's wank, football fans eh, no bloody idea! thanks for the update Roy, great work, I hope you get what you want for Christmas :-)

If we can get Burton to go seven figures for Brayford, offer it straight to Wolves for EEL

I agree with this. We are in the driving seat here.

We either take Brayford back, knowing that he is fit and a good player on his day (at the very least he is good cover for Freeman and we are short of cover in that position).

Or

We sell him whilst his stock is high and Burton are still in the Championship.

There is little point of him being on loan now. Bring him back or stump up.

Please tell me you don't mean that

Beat me to it, I think some are getting a bit carried away with EEL.

Re Brayford, in a recent interview, it sounded to me like he considered himself a Chumpionship player and I'd be surprised if he wanted to drop down again, not that he would have any choice if push came to shove. I don't mind Freeman, not convinced defensively but between the two, there's only once choice if the 'old' Brayford came back. I'd be surprised if anything changes though and expect him to remain for the season, we can spend the money elsewhere.

Next season is a different story as he'd still be under contract to us for another year.

If Lambert's only viewing of EEL was him dozily allowing his man in behind against Walsall then seven figure fees won't be demanded...

That said, EEL is more important to us than Brayford at the moment, so our trousers may need to be lowered to a permissible degree.

Brayford wont be back this season. We have used his wages on other players.

So in real terms we can't afford to bring him back in January.

Brayford should be recalled as soon as possible, and if Burton want him again, let them pay all his wages or, better yet, a fee for him.

I am still mystified as to why we are subsiding a club in a higher division.

Cheers Roy

How's Kieron Wallace getting on at Fleetwood? Has he even had any game time??

Played twice in the whatsitcalled Cup, that's it, not heard anything at all about him. Woolford's not far behind him either.

As an aside, they loved Scoogs and were gutted when the rumoured deal fell through after he got another chance with us.

It's an interesting one with Brayford. We're led to believe that the reason he went out on loan was to save the club his wages.
There's been talk recently of who we should go for in the JTW or that we should put in a bid for EEL etc etc. It all comes down to how ambitious this board are to get out of this league. I'm not convinced. I don't believe for one minute that CW would have sanctioned his loan if he wasn't under pressure to do so by the board. Ok, he didn't play great in the first few games, but then, who did?

We can only speculate, but surely it would be cheaper to bring Brayford back and pay his wages than to sign another player with all the fees that would involve, which presuming we want to strengthen would no doubt include a transfer fee and signing on fee, not to mention new players wages. Are we to believe that Brayford's wages alone far out-strip those potential costs?

I'd be more than happy to see Brayford back challenging Freeman for that wing back position, not to mention the additional cover that would provide in the run in.

...unless we had a deal in place to sell to Burton or somebody else, which would be the best case scenario.

I think anyone hoping he might come back and be an asset at RWB is misguided. He's been playing RCB for Burton, and due to his knee injury can only train a couple of days a week and can't get up and down the pitch like he used to.

It's time to forget about him and move on. Even if he plays well for Clough there's nothing to say he'd come back here and play well.

I don't think there's any more in it than your 1st sentence, it was part of the re-budget and who knows whether without it we could have made some of the signings we did, Moore and Lavery for example.

It's also worth remembering that Coutts, Freeman and Scoogs have all remained on the budget when it was presumed that all would be leaving, the former probably not far behind Brayford wages wise I wouldn't have thought.
