Just took my little lad to football coaching with Billy and the guys down at Goals.
His first words were "Don't worry, I'm not teaching them how to take penalties!"
Followed by "I've watched the replay back of the disallowed goal, I know I didn't handball it. Ref must have thought cos I was falling forward I touched it, I deffo chested it in. Gutted. One of those games to forget".

Never looks convincing and for such a decent striker it never looks like he kicks the ball properly when taking a penalty , but what do I know , I missed in a shoot out for my Sunday league side in a cup semi final . Luckily for me no one else did ! As ever UTB!!

It does slightly concern me that Sharp continues to take penalties when it's screamingly obvious he's not very good at it. Like it seems increasingly obvious there's no chemistry,or attempt at chemistry with him and Clarke.
At the risk of being hung for treason,it concerns me slightly that he may be exempt any form of sanction. Done has been "rested" for running himself into the ground for the cause. Could it be that everyone is equal but one is more equal than others?

You appear to want to sanction him for other players not playing very well. You would really want to sanction our top scorer for missing a penalty and for Clarke's form ?

I regularly get frustrated with Billy during matches (Watch your line ffs!) but i think he comes across excellently off the pitch and you can't question is professionalism and he certainly never hides from taking responsibility. Can see why Wilder made him captain

I said on here many times now, running around like a mad dog doesn't impress me. I know it impresses most Blades. I hear them "coo" and go, "phoarr - he's a Blade" when someone does that. But I've never been moved by it, I don't know why? I'd much rather see players run around far less but do something positive with the ball instead, preferably take it with them, rather than just run around without it, which is what Done gets most credit for.

In Done's case, he's been rested NOT because he's been "running himself into the ground for the cause" but because he's missed about half a dozen sitters in the last few games which he really should have put away. Wilder made reference to this in a recent interview - not specifically mentioning Done - but saying that strikers are expected to score and if they don't score there's a price to be paid - or words to that effect.

Don't get me wrong, I like Done, but again, as I've said many times before, he is NOT a striker. He's a converted midfielder who has NEVER SCORED MORE THAN 6 GOALS IN A SEASON, except for that season we brought him in from Rochdale. You cannot build a promotion team around a "striker" like that.

That's why he's rested - and rightly so. Now, if you want to play him on the left of midfield, instead of the ineffectual Lafferty - that's another matter altogether and I'd support that.
