Not really. It's perfectly reasonable to state that he should come off penalties. Would you have him taking them?

He may well continue taking them - and if he does I hope he scores - but that doesn't detract from the fact that his penalty taking record is below par and that someone else should be given a chance.

It could be 'perfectly reasonable' but Tyler makes the point that all the Anti-Sharps jump in. Suddenly it seems we should be playing Clarke/Chapman upfront or some other untried combo.

I find it very difficult to look past his goal record of 12 in 22.

It hasn't stopped at the penalty-taking though. He's been slagged off in general since Tuesday. Funny thing is, when I remind people that he is Sheffield Uniteds top goal scorer, they say "Yeah but how many penalties?". He'll never be right for some.

And no I wouldn't have him taking the penalties at this moment in time, because I don't think it's a job that should be designated to one man anyway.

If that's what was being referred to then I apologise - clearly someone's penalty taking ability shouldn't be an indication of how good their all round play is. Sharp has been excellent these last couple of months, he's just gone of the boil the last couple of games.
