Boxing Day 1972 lost 3 nil to Liverpool

For the first time I can remember, I predicted an easy win last night so for the second part of the question I will predict that we will finish somewhere between 1st and 20th as I am pretty confident we won't go down.

first one i remember really clearly , 1989 vs Preston NE , 3 -1 , sure agana grabbed a brace

i think 3rd or 4th and then who knows!

1982.
4th. Up next year as champions.

A - Never been to a real game

B - I think we will finish in the EL places and miss out on the Champions League again.

This is another Manchester United board, isn't it?

Just looked on Statto.com for mine always wondered when it was don't know why I never thought to do that before. 2 April 1983 Division 3 v Chesterfield won 3-1 think we went 1-0 down. In John Street seats with my Grandad when I was 7. For some reason I remember a bloke shouting "Come on Porterfield gimme son a chance." Assume his son was on the bench but no idea who. Also remember there being a Chezzie fan sat in front of us. Being from Dronnie I didn't realise at the time but big local derby for me! Don't think we played Chezzie again competitively until the League Cup match not that long ago.

Grandad always left early to get the bus. Didn't understand at the time and still don't!

3rd lose playoffs very original!

1970-71 I think. May have been earlier. Seem to remember round collars rather than triangular

4th. Out in the playoffs. Wilder sacked as per the norm, to save McCabe's shame of not securing the purchase of EEL and us not having any credible CB ability.

17/08/1974 1-1 vs QPR I was 8

1st, all coming good and these results where we dominate but fail to convert become a thing of the past 100 goal season :)

26th April 1975, Blades 4 Leicester City 0. 2nd place finish I reckon.

Ah, the Birch-TC snog :)

1963 v Forest
1st or 2nd

I say 1st or 2nd, but that's party wishful thinking. As Trig Jnr (TE) said last night, we could get 90 points, finish third and play like we did v Walsall, totally dominant and lose out again. Accordingly, I've removed the play offs from my thinking.

An anti McCabe rant just after we lose for the first time since August.
Same as it ever was.

Bert will let you into a little secret pommpey...... . EEL isn't that good.

EEL is 'as good as better than the shit we have had to endure over the past few seasons, since McCabe flogged Maguire, in fact'

The fact that he has popped up and nodded a few in for us rather than mysteriously handle the ball (McEveley) play out of position (Brayford, Basham) or just fucking play like a cock for 85% of every game (Collins) is beyond the discussion for Bert though, isn't it? The fact that we have been playing better since his arrival and conceded 17 in that time and an impressive 14 match unbeaten run doesn't prove anything to Bert, does it?

So, you don't think he's worth hanging on to? You don't think that our defence would be short-changed without him? It's not worth asking Burton if they fancy making us an offer for the Beard and reinvesting it in a pretty decent centre back? Not worth putting the cash we got for Adams into it?

Okay. Pommpey bows to Bert's massive Bladey Bladeness, once again. Long live McCabe.

From what I can remember, it was definitely Xmas, and I think Leicester so with the unfortunate absence of both my parents to confirm, it will probably have been Boxing Day 1970.

1st or 2nd, between us and Bolton.

He is worth hanging on to at the right price. But he's not the messiah nor is he as good as he first appeared. If we go up he will probably flounder. He does cut an imposing figure though.

Scores goals and offers a far better option than the raft of duds we have had playing there.

If anything, buying him would constitute a Game Changing Investment. Unless Bert knows of others who are available?

.
Blades 2 (Nish o.g., Woodward) Leicester 1 (Farrington)

69/70

heart says 2nd, head says wait until end of JTW

1961/2

Champions. Many of us have had to wait a while since the last time and though it was only the old 4th Division it was one of our most entertaining seasons.Like now with CW we had a fairly young Manager in Ian Porterfield who was able to get the best out of his players.
