After a late goal we conceded against Charlton after being dominant for the vast majority of the match, we had all the predictions of the wheels coming off and a defeat tonight.

Then tonight we looked the better side by a mile, but lost thanks to a penalty miss and a contentious decision by the referee to disallow a goal and the lot goes.

If anyone who didn't go tonight wants to wax lyrical about the defeat then go ahead. Tonight we looked the better side and the only real problem we have at the minute is how to break down teams who spend 90 minutes with 10 men behind the ball and with their own defenders camped in their own box.

As for those who predicted defeat tonight, congratulations on being right, hope you enjoy your bragging rights.

Yep. Most are of our players getting slagged off on various threads tonight, including Billy and Coutts, both instrumental in our brilliant run since August.

Some people just can't wait to get back to moaning about how shit we are.

Ah! Hello to the "anyone who criticises aspects of a performance must be happy we have lost thread" how are you?

...but they didn't Park the bus. They played as well as we allowed and came forward when they could. We hufged and puffed but, in front of goal we were indecisive afraid to shoot and tried going long to Clarke fairly often. When he had it come to him, there was no one just off him. At the pen, I stated Billy would miss. He didn't miss but his shot was saved because it was poor and lacked conviction, speed and accuracy. All these are needed for a pen. Personally, I think that just for a wake up call, Billy meeds to be on the bench and Done needs bringing back in. While I am at it, Duffy is creative, tricky and worth his position in the team but, why oh why can he not beat the first man with his crosses or, get an accurate cross in. It beats me!!

Sorry to disagree with you LTT but they had 10/11 men behind the ball from the off. The difference was they hassled us like we do but then broke at pace which we don't

They are just a pain in the arse. I would have thought they'd all died of the diesel fumes off the M6 by now, but it seems not

Drop our top scorer! Brilliant idea!

Sorrry, but this is nonsense, apart from a couple of instances in most posts I've seen tonight the criticisms have been constructive.

Occasionally the other team will do just enough to get a spozzy win. We mullered 'em and and a 4-1 win would have been a fair reflection. Should just piss us off enough to hammer Bolton Wankerers on Sunday.

I've been going on about it since Sharp was here for his second spell, he can't play with a target man because Sharp is best when playing with a pacey hard working striker e.g. Done or Keogh.

It fucking winds me up that I can see this but some managers can't and it's blatantly obvious as well!

Stop doing that and I'll be as happy as Larry again! :)

Yes, we lacked pace; yes, the crossing was poor; and yes, my bowels moved more than the front two tonight... but there were some incredible reactions to the first defeat in weeks.

Saw one bloke shambling down the steps at the end, continually bellowing FUCK OFF (accompanied by an emphatic flick of the rods), with a chuntered comment following each one.

FUCK OFF... what yer clapping?
FUCK OFF... you'll clap owt.
FUCK OFF... you're all shit.
And my absolute favourite:
FUCK OFF... fuck off.

I certainly didn't predict a defeat tonight. I expected an emphatic response after Wilders spot-on assessment of our performance against Charlton.

Instead I was subjected to a woefully inept performance, devoid of any conviction and sluggish as fuck. With the godawful sideways and backwards aimless crap that defined our worst moments under Adkins. With the possible exception of Duffy, the team should be ashamed of what they served up tonight.

So here I am, disgusted with the performance yet not celebrating our defeat. How weird.

Don't agree with the OP at all, but people need to learn about why footballers pas the ball sideways and backwards.

Frustration borne out of the last two home games (& the draw snatched from the jaws of a win) I'd have thought, rather than any satisfaction at all. We've had this coming tbf.

Where the flying fuck are the honest predictions of us losing and being happy with it? and who has truly said the fucking wheels have come off?
