Good appointment for them.
Will be a little bit tougher game now with the players trying to impress him.
I have a nasty feeling our unbeaten run will come to an end on Saturday at 4.50pm.

Nah - we will never lose a game of football again.
This is the start of a glorious run to the top of the Premier League and Champions of Europe.
You heard it here first - ITK me.

No games are easy.... But.... if we continue to work hard... press....keep our heads....stay focused....use the ball well and take our chances when they come... then I for one will be able to accept that whatever the outcome!!! utb!!!

This is our biggest test. It would've been hard against an inconsistent Slade side just because they are Charlton and have some quality players - nevermind a new manager boom, on the back of a 5-1 win, and that manager being one who seems to have a knack on how to beat us 1-0.

Let's take it to them from minute 1 and see how they handle it.

So they carry on playing in the system they've won the last two games with and will be trying to impress the new manager. Great.

Somehow I think the pressure will be on the home side here. Given the choice, I think they would have liked an appointment of Chris Wilder over Robinson tbh.

Don't think it will make much difference. The team is already on a winning streak and he won't be taking training until next week. If anything, it may unsettle some of them. If I was a Charlton player, I'd have hoped for someone with a better record than Robinson.

Plus their minds will be on the upcoming FA Cup tie against........................................MK Dons

Robinson is a cross between Dave Weir and Nigel Adkins.

He has the football philosophy of Weir.
Possession is king. slow build ups from the back, pass side ways, sideways, sideways.. then pass backwards.

And the bullshitting slickness of Adkins.
Comes across well in interviews, knows the buzz words and is postive/ confident verging on arrogance.

What about Tom Robinson? He had some good records. Love that "2-4-6-8 motorway"!

I'd have put Bradford and scunny way in front of Charlton.

Would Scunny be worrying about going down to face Charlton (Robinson or no Robinson)? Would they bollocks.

Should we be? Erm...

Good post Alf. I think many Blades, myself included are still transitioning,(shamelessly stolen from Woodwardfan) from a mindset borne of years of disappointment and failure to a new dawn and I for one don't want to think or say anything to upset the football gods and drop us on our arses.
As others have posted rightly on this thread; go there with the right preperation and attitude. Be on it from the get go and let them worry about us.

We were getting promoted before this broke, now it's doom and gloom. Jesus.
We are a funny bunch aren't we?

Either everything is doom or we are the best side ever. Nothing in between.

On Tuesday night a bloke behind me in the South Stand shouted 'get it sorted Wilder, this is a fucking disgrace.' . Mind you this guy doesn't do much as clap, never mind stand up when we score and he's been a season ticket holder for many years. I do genuinely wonder why he bothers with united.

Not sure what my point is now, so I'll stop writing.. any .. time.. now... and I've stopped. .. now.

If they had to play them Saturday? Probably. I imagine most of them are expecting things to go wrong sooner or later but hoping they don't. Like us really.

It's not the end of the world if we lose.

Yeah, know what you mean, mate. I refuse point blank to do predictions these days, for fear of tempting fate (despite e.g. privately thinking Bury were gonna get battered on Tuesday night).

To nick a phrase from that dearly loved Mr Adkins, we're on that bladeacoaster. And you just keep thinking: yeah, it's going up and up and up and up, but when's it gonna start coming down? (We just don't do bladeacoasters that allow you to get off at the top, like other clubs do.)

They seem super-confident. I suppose their real test will be when they hit a sticky spell, which they definitely will do, they can't possibly keep going at this rate - they've got an identical points total to (& better goal difference than) Wolves had 3 seasons back at this stage. Orient too had a similar record (with an even better goal difference).
