Chedsterfield are next on the radar, with an array of ex personnel , normally would get the wobbles against ex blade opponents but under CW cant see anything this weekend but us being in total control
The team go in confident and well versed on Wilders Way, won there 3-0 last season expect minimum of 2 this time

onwards and upwards for the red n white wizards

Could be a sting in the tail, but we are working hard in all areas so I go with a 3-1 win:)

None of them will celebrate I reckon and all 3 should get a good reception from us. Dimaio and Humphreys will also have mixed feelings.

Same score I think we are playing too well at the moment for Chesterfield.

Who do you reckon will get their goal? ;)

These are just a couple of common phrases out of very many which exist to warn against over confidence.

Another might be there's no such thing as a certainty and the perennial "it's a funny old game".

Requires 100% focus, determination, commitment, drive and a refusal to lose personal battles.
Thta's the first hurdle.
Can't understand why anyone would predict a comfortable win against local rivals. It seldom happens.
I'll be the first to woop woop IF it does.
Powder dry.

As things stand right now I think we'd probably beat them more times than not, but nothing is a gimme in football and the ex United playing staff and managers does add an edge to it as well as it being a derby.

To be honest though, I'm glad they've got their first wins out of the way because I'd have been more nervous if they still hadn't won, Wilson had got the push and Morgs had been wheeled in as temporary manager.

Whatever happens, we won't roll over even if they come out all guns blazing, so unless the Ref has a mare, I think we should win....hopefully.

Form can go out of the window in a local game but I think CW and AK are too canny to let anything daft happen, and are more than capable of making quick changes when required. Chesterfield are second bottom of the league for a reason and our lads love to get in amongst the goals.

Humphreys and his family were all Blades fans and I dont know why we didnt sign him. I liked Dave Bassett but thought his youth policy was poor. We had Kevin Davies with us before he was allowed to move to Chesterfield

I think this game against Chessy has all the hallmarks of when we were in Div 4 and played Hull and Edwards early season. Edwards was still a big favourite with Blades fans and there had been massive rumours he was coming home to the Lane. Naturally he scored the winner for Hull (funnily enough his first and only goal for Hull that season), late on if I remember rightly, but within a week or 2 he'd returned as a Blades and was to notch 30+ goals to lead us to promotion and the title, and himself to the golden boot for top scorer.

Fast forward 35 years and for Edwards read Evans; he'll know doubt score Sunday but I still reckon come January he'll be signing on back at the Lane!

At complete odds to the huge success he had with youth at Wimbledon, where he brought through a lot of players who became top, top players.

True, dont think Keith Mincher was the youth coach at Wimbledon. Never thought he did a good job at SUFC

Couldn't give a shit about Wilson, Morgan or Evans this weekend.

Can't see beyond us smashing them by 3 or 4 really. They are woeful and we are in top form, can't remember the last time I've been as confident against a local side, it's nice to feel such confidence in a United team, full credit to Wilder.

Would be ironic if we dipped this Sunday having completely controlled the game last season under Adkins.

See this as the banana skin. Evans nailed on to net and we will look shit on TV after going on about how good we are.

I would be far more worried if old Muckanettles Upanatem Nowt-Fancy [Morgan's little known real name] were "coaching" us rather than them.

Only been appointed by one manager and the first time was solely to save money.

Difference this year, with this United team, is, if by chance we don't get a positive result (I'm sure we will), then this team is capable of putting it behind them and going on another good run. Got to have a blip sometime, but that's all it will be, wether it be Sunday or the following week.

You'd have been gratified to hear what I was told last weekend by a Chesterfield fan, Pinchy. If what he says is true, Morgan is taking more flak from their fans about their decline this season than Wilson is.

They don't seem very confident at all about their chances on Sunday, though the Evans factor is a wild card.

Here's Wilson's take on it.

Things of note.
He's refers to Wilder as "Tufty"
He makes a great impression of a bull.

Great interview. The sort of respectful thing that is often lacking in football today. DW and CE did well at United and the sort of reasonable and appropriate responses DW showed in that interview I'd like to see more of. UTB.

I was never a Ched fan before that season - lazy and ineffective for all that money paid. Have an overhanging view that he let us all down as well as himself and family (and the form was down to feeling he had to prove summat given what was hanging over him) but I'm not going to make any derisive comments on Sunday.

......unless he scores a late winner and gives it large in front of us - in which case - both barrels
