The paper claims that Warnock asked players to pay him if they wanted to play in the first team. Apparently this was revealed in a House Of Commons select committee. I wonder if there will be any claims about his time as Blades manager?
That's a misleading summary of the story. The paper isn't claiming that or revealing anything new. They are just reporting that the MP quoted Puncheon's tweets from years ago. Nothing new to add at all in terms of facts or evidence.
Warnock has said it was all investigated at the time, so (if true) the MP is talking b***ocks. Shouldn't they try and establish a few facts before abusing parliamentary privilege?
<< Warnock said in a statement: "These allegations are completely and utterly false.
"The FA Commission considered all of the evidence in detail in 2014 and it found that the allegations which were published about me were unfounded. Any suggestion that the FA failed to investigate this matter is simply untrue.
"In fact, Mr Puncheon apologised to me and removed the allegations from his Twitter account. The FA fined him £15,000 and he was warned as to his future conduct.
"I am disappointed that these allegations have been repeated after Mr Puncheon’s apology and after the FA investigated fully. If anyone had asked me the truth before publication, I would have pointed them to the FA website, where the facts are all easily accessible." >>

What the FA investigation concluded at the time
The FA Commission's verdict said in conclusion: "We were satisfied that the correct sanction for this offence would be a fine and a warning as to Mr. Puncheon’s future conduct. In reaching an appropriate amount of the fine we had regard for Mr. Puncheon’s net income from football as well as the standard penalties even though this is a non-standard case.
"The Members were of the opinion that this was a serious breach in that Mr. Puncheon had published unfounded allegations of dishonesty about another individual on his Twitter account.
Neil Warnock and Jason Puncheon
"Having awarded Mr. Puncheon credit for his admittance of the charge and the mitigation as listed above, which we reflected by way of a reduction of 25%, we ordered that Mr. Puncheon be fined the sum of £15,000 and be warned as to his future conduct."
Puncheon's mitigation reflected he had swiftly deleted the comments from his Twitter account and then posted an apology. It also noted that a 'settlement between him [Puncheon] and Warnock had been agreed.'
Puncheon had no previous record of misconduct and did not appeal the charge.>>
