We'll see, but if after he's played in his next match they say he needs an operation on some thing or other I'll start getting worried.......

It is worrying that we have signed a young hungry pro who, by all accounts, and taking injuries aside, is miles away from being match fit enough to last 90 minutes.

It's now October. He's been here for 6 weeks. Pre season aside (or lack of one) it's still a worry.

Especially as plenty of fans, and Wilder, have great faith in him.

Has compounded the loss of Clarke (and I never thought I'd say that !)

UTB

I'd worry about injuries if he was an old pro at the end of his career, not if he's a young fit lad who hasn't played competitive football for a year due to contractual issues.

You mean like J Wallace ?

There appear to be a lot of rumours bubbling under the surface regarding Mr Lavary . Anyone care to share them ?

I read, like others his effusive remarks upon signing for us,coupled with his criticisms about his former employer.
People on here lauded his words and enthused about his signing.
Since he indulged in talking the talk he has shown little or no signs of taking baby steps in walking the walk.

Hope that situation is rectified very quickly and his actions on the pitch are seen to back up his spoken wishes!

Lavery got his injury playing for our under 23s. He sprinted past a centre half and got a whack as he won the penalty, which he tucked away. A clip of this was on here.
Wilder said he'll be OK for next week.

According to Larkymasher he got injured and went off after 18 mins

Yep Pedro I looked at the sufc website, which said no subs used so I assumed he played the full 90 mins. That disappointes me as I
was hoping he was getting fit ,one has to feel for the lad as larkymasher says he gives it his best shot, always.

That's interesting . I'd also read on here that he'd picked up a knock today and was subbed early doors .

Fingers crossed he hasn't as like you say , hes managed a few full games now .

If we signed Lavery at the beginning of August he'd be ready by now. I just hope the delay wasn't due to haggling over a petty amount of money, especially as we knew Adams was on the way out with a fee incoming.

But despite the injury setbacks, it has taken him a long time and I'm surprised that's the case, I would've expected him to have had a better pre season. Wasn't he still training with Wednesday's youth team? And he doesn't at all seem like the type who'd be unprofessional and lazy.

Do you really think so?

Honestly I don't. He's been like this since before we bought him. I wonder if it's just about fitness or whether there's something about work ethic as well?

He rolled up at Shrewsbury last season on loan, claiming he'd been fit for months (despite what Adkins had told us), then a few weeks later he was injured again.

He's either got a chronic long-term physical problem or a mental one. Neither is good.

Oh dear, how sad, never mind.....

James Wallace has given us absolutely no service, no value, and has cost us a wage and shirt.. sorry to offend anybody but we can not afford hangers on, he should hang his boots up after us, it would be the right thing for him to do instead of burdening some other poor club...

I have a minimum requirement for a footballer.... play some games and contribute.. not too much to ask is it..?

It is surprising he seems to be this far being everyone else...

Hopefully its just a case of not throwing him in too early and getting an injury like Clarke but you would have hoped too see him feature before now. You'd have thought that the coaching staff would have had him on some sort of intensive fitness programme to get him involved a.s.a.p

I just hope the delay wasn't due to haggling over a petty amount of money...

To be fair. I hope we haggled hard and that's what dragged everything out.
The lower the amount of money we had to pay that scum team the better.

36 games left to play, so what's the rush. Get him ready and fully fit.

Aye, which is why I predicted Ched would get injured quickly on his return. And he has, though I confess I've no idea what ails him....

I think that the Latin term for his ailment is Donec curia hic iturus

From what i've seen Lavery's main quality is that he's rapid, even more so than Done, but at this level that's a brilliant quality. When you think about it CB's at this level tend to fall into three categories (for once I think we're an exception)

1. Old war horses who've dropped to this level because their legs have gone but are still quality when it comes to reading the game and are a very steady influence at the back. (think of slightly better Jake Wright/Chris Morgan if he was somehow still playing)

2. New young things who want to have been released/loaned from the clubs a level above and are now earning their stripes, most of them are poor and have a mistake in them. (think McGahey)

3. Just plain bad (think Neil Collins)

Lavery is the worst nightmare for all three of these because he's quick.Simple. Hopefully he'll be winning the ball of them, for managing to get past them when he'll be able to set up Sharp to do the tricky stuff. Well at least I guess that's how it's supposed to work.
